But most of @SunlessPod touches on #mentalhealth both my experiences of anxiety, depression & suicidal thoughts, & my dad’s experiences of dementia & depression. It’s actually an uplifting & healing show despite its subject matter as this review from Miranda Sawyer suggests:
The first season of @SunlessPod is now available in full and every episode touches on topics and experiences that fit perfectly with #InternationalDayOfOlderPersons. The show was recommended by Miranda Sawyer in The Observer. #InternationalDayForOlderPersons
At its core @SunlessPod is a podcast about my dad, the stories of his life that span from 1924 to 2020, and his experience of old age and dementia. It’s also a show about me and my relationship with my dad. #InternationalDayOfOlderPersons #InternationalDayForOlderPerson2020

This episode is on the longer side because I wanted to put as much of my dad as possible into this final episode, to contrast with his absence from the previous episode, and to leave this show about the end of his life, with a celebration of the life he lived.

It is full of my dad’s voice and words. It mixes the story of making the show with some of my dad’s most filmic experiences and features a performance he did for @familytreepod. Here are some pictures of me and my dad that I like:

And that’s just scratching the surface as this conversation goes to so many places, or maybe sees the same place from so many angles.
