What does it mean to find peace when facing the hardest moments of life? A new study from Sunstone Therapies and collaborators from Harvard Medical School, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the University of Vermont explores how psilocybin-assisted group therapy helped people with cancer and depression find meaning, connection, and renewal.
The findings expand the understanding of psilocybin-assisted therapy as not only a potential treatment for depression, but also a meaningful intervention to address existential suffering in serious illness.

At Sunstone, we believe healing goes deeper than the surface. In our very first clinical study, we saw that 80% of participants experienced a greater than 50% reduction in depressive symptoms—and half went into complete remission. The results were so meaningful, they were published in JAMA Oncology.
Building on that work, we’re now conducting the 2Dose Study, exploring psilocybin-assisted therapy in people with cancer of all stages to address two important questions:
