My first sighting of The Dolphins in 2023 at Whitby. I Had seen them earlier in the year down at Scarborough but this was the first time at Whitby in 2023.

This is what drowning in a rip looks like. Rescuer Pierro Coutant said “the young man panicked and uses the girl as a buoy not to drown (survival instinct)." Tragedy was averted thanks to his swift action at La Barre.

Today marks 26 years since our all weather lifeboat, George and Mary Webb arrived in Whitby. The Trent class lifeboat has kept our volunteer crew safe in stormy weather and treacherous seas. Lives have been saved and casualties reunited with their families. Thank you 14-14!
