Boats/ships have long been depicted in art, reflecting different cultures, histories, & art styles. Alfred Wallis, Peter Lanyon & William Scott all incl. boats & maritime themes in their work:
The Blue Ship ?c.1934, Wallis
Porthleven Boats 1950–1, Lanyon
The Harbour 1948–9, Scott
Popped into the Spring Open exhibition at @StIvesSociety Mariner's Gallery #StIves and super thrilled to discover this original artwork has already sold.
Do pop in and take a look at the exhibition which is on until 7th June 2024
