When doing some reviews there could be various NDA’s you must follow, and might require a signed contract. A manufacturer reached out to me to for a collaboration. After several emails back and forth, they sent me their contract. To be clear and transparent, I had two options. One was a Promotional Video, the other was a Review. I opted for the review. With all that being said, not everyone could be receiving the same contract. The contract I received is 13 pages long, mostly consisting of control of what I produce, along with fees and penalties if I do not adhere to what is in the contract. Here are just a few! * I have to submit a draft video 5 working days prior to agreed date of uploading. So the manufacturer can make suggestions. * I would be releasing rights of the content I produced, without any compensation. * I cannot post any competing products on my social media for 1 month. This is a new product, and this doesn’t sit well with me if others are agreeing to these terms. To me, this is clear manipulation of what could be presented to the potential customer.
