The path to social and economic exclusion for people with disabilities is sugar-coated by 'specialness' - but whose conscious does it sweeten? Denial of the human rights to inclusive education, to participate in open employment and to live in one's community is not 'special' - it is segregation.

Determining LRE for students w/disabilities is NOT the same as creating meaningful inclusive environments rooted in authentic belonging, deepened relationships (peers/adults), & a true sense of community. Know the difference. Felt it must be said...discuss.
