FAREWELL THREAD: It started with Manchester City in Europe and it ends the same way. The @BBCSport live page has come on a bit in the last 10 years and last night was my final voyage in charge.

⚽️ NEW OUTLET! ⚽️ A new site dedicated to high-quality, ad-free coverage of Northampton Town is set to launch on CounterPress this autumn. The Shoe Horn arrives next month and promises to deliver intelligent, insightful reporting on the Cobblers, covering the past, present and future of the club. The site is led by journalists and Northampton fans @JeffersonLake and Massimo Dellow. Jefferson has been a Cobblers fan since the dark County Ground days of the early 1990s and reported on the club for the Northampton Chronicle & Echo from 2005 to 2015. He has also worked for BBC Sport, Sky Sports and UEFA. Massimo is a dedicated Cobblers fan, having followed the club through thick and thin over the last few years, and rarely misses a home match. He has worked with the club and surrounding the team in multiple areas, including writing, filming and audio related content. His journalistic endeavours have seen him fulfil regular work with sports publications and organisations, such as the Non League Paper, Buckinghamshire County Cricket Club, VAVEL and more. The Shoe Horn members can look forward to a mix of the latest on-the-pitch events as the Cobblers enter their Brazilian era combined with regular trips down memory lane as the team speak to the people who have made the key moments happen in the club's history. Jefferson said: "I've been following CounterPress' work in the field of truly independent journalism for a little while and I've always wanted to collaborate with them on something related to my club, Northampton Town. "This project gives me the chance to do that and I'm looking forward to dipping my toe back into covering the Cobblers after a few years away. "With the new ownership in place at the football club this is a really exciting time to be a Northampton fan and I'm hoping we can document the journey every step of the way." Massimo added: “I am incredibly proud and excited to get The Shoe Horn up and running. “The media world, along with football coverage, is ever-changing and I believe that CounterPress provide the best platform for modern sports coverage, which is why I am thrilled to be starting a Northampton-dedicated site. “The news and content that we publish will be fresh and unlike what is currently available, and will give Cobblers fans a unique perspective on their team.”

The career of former Brazil, AC Milan and Chelsea striker Alexandre Pato has been a journey. But nobody would have guessed it would end up at League Two Northampton Town ⬇️ spr.ly/6016BHl8Xg

Mad that it's only five years since Bournemouth finished below Barnsley in the League and now they play AC Milan.
