#education Did you pay attention, or did you get probed like an inmate at Guantánamo?
All I see is people trying to justify buying a semi name, selling it for a few bucks and calling it a great trade while it's downtrending.
These are the SAME people who wouldn't touch anything else because semis were the only thing worth buying when they were trending earlier this year and shat on people that talked about anything else.
Do you see a problem? Because I sure as hell do.
Let's be honest. If semis had bounced harder, half of them wouldn't have sold shit. They'd be posting rocket emojis and pretending they had a master plan. And how they are rewriting history to make a mediocre trade look like Warren Buffett himself handed you a trophy.
Toxicity and selective memory. What a fucking combination.
Remember my last sermon? TIME.
Let's start with $SMH
If you went long at the bottom of the range, where I said it's only short covering, good for you. But what was your conviction?
You're between the 50 and 200 SMA. The 200 EMA, which I know plenty of you use, is still lower. Yes, you had range support. But support is where the shorts are covering. That's not the same thing as confirming a new long trend.
Now, let's talk about the people who played TIME.
Kudos to you. You had a thesis, gave the trade room to work and accepted that you are underwater now but that's must have been accounted for, because that's conviction. 👏
But here's the next piece of sauce, especially for those of you playing options. Just because you bought TIME doesn't mean you get to throw strike selection out the window.
Let's use SMH @ $540.
Say you're bullish, buy the $600 calls because they're cheaper and convince yourself that $INTC should be trading at $300/shr
You're buying calls against a downtrend. You don't have:
• an established base
• faster moving averages are declining
• no confirmed reversal (higher high)
You're basically paying theta rent on a property that hasn't even finished collapsing.
That $60 upside target looks great on paper. But what happens if SMH drops from $540 to $520 before it finally turns?
Your $60 upside target just became an $80 climb. That's another $20 the stock has to recover before you even get back to your original target and you've been bleeding theta the entire time.
The market doesn't care how cheap your contracts were. Your broker isn't handing out refunds because your thesis needed another 3wks to cook.
So, if you're bullish and want to play LEAPS against the trend, consider keeping your strikes closer to ATM. You get better participation if the reversal comes, instead of needing a miracle just to get your options moving.
And honestly, if you want to express a bullish thesis while accounting for the risks, look at a bull call debit spread or a put credit spread, depending on your outlook, support levels and risk tolerance.
Stop buying lottery tickets and calling it investing.

All the dumbass furus are about to be back, trying to suck you into the AI trade again.
And listen, a bounce after the correction we’ve had wouldn’t be surprising and I'm all for it. But the key word is TIME.
This trade just went through a liquidation event. Institutions took heavy profits, well back in September. Without that demand coming back in, you can’t expect price to simply turn around and head straight back up.
GIVE IT TIME.
Let them accumulate. Let price move sideways. Let it build a base and establish support before you start chasing another move higher.
It’s October. I think you’ve been fucked over enough by these people and their tactics of sucking you into trades at the worst possible time.
We’re heading into the end of the month after one of the roughest stretches we’ve had in a while. You can bet the vultures will be out in full force, pushing Webull screenshots and other engagement farming ways.
Be smart this time around, it's your hard earned money. Protect it first.

Red to green, "we're sooo back", but the trend is still lower.
Don't make the mistake so many traders make by confusing a bounce with a trend reversal.
Remember what I said a few days ago. Short covering can create some powerful moves to the upside. That doesn't automatically mean a new trend is forming.
Let price prove the reversal before you start calling the bottom.

$SPYM - Here they come again with twin monster intraday trades. $1.7B combined this time - nearly the same size as yesterday.
Also, the #3 $UVIX cluster and a good sized $SSO (2x $SPY) sweep came with it.

$SPYM ($SPY) - Two monsters landed just before the intraday sell began. 10M shares x2. $1.8B combined.

$MTUM - Each of these pink annotations in the first two images represents a cluster of trades.
Today we got seven (7) clusters ranked in the top-100, including the largest cluster since inception.
Among those seven clusters were 42 institutional trades.
Among those 42 trades were eight (8) individual trades that ranked in the top-100.
Among those 42 trades were 12.3M shares amounting to $3.9B. That's the largest one-day flurry of institutional prints in its history.
In short - 'twas a big day for positioning in momentum.
Top holdings include $MU, $AMD, $INTC, $CSCO.

$XOP - 11 days later and price has resolved lower. All that price movement in the gray box was just overshoot, trickery, and bait.
Interestingly, price now sits on that -2 ATR border on the hourly chart. Perhaps a bounce is in store next. I do not know.
FWIW, we did get a large $USO print (not pictured) this afternoon. #6. Worth paying attention to.

$XOP - This process usually takes longer than I'd prefer. But price is once again below these two large prints.
Whether or not institutions and algos are done irritating everybody with a stake in this ETF is yet to be seen, but it should at least be clear by now that price action is not consistent with fresh new buys - nor is the location of these prints.

$QQQ - The largest trade since inception just printed. $2.44B across 3.4M shares.
$714.60 is your pass/fail line. Price may wash above and below it multiple times before resolving.
There's some speculation in the VL Discord that it's tied to an options trade that expires EOY. Cannot confirm. Cannot deny.
Regardless, give it time to resolve. It's not likely going to happen in the next 15 minutes.
MSCI Rebalance and EOM positioning at the bell today. Might be more behind this. TBD.
Lastly, $PSQ (1x Bear $QQQ) is still meandering amid these recent large prints.

The platform isn't going to blast you with a foghorn and tell you what and when to buy, but it will tell you when opportunities arise that might be worth exploring. How those opportunities are managed is a personal choice.
You won't catch them all (I certainly didn't), but one successful trade more than offsets the cost of membership.
