In a speech in 2015, Mansour Abbas acknowledges his Muslim Brotherhood affiliation.
He explains that the reason the Southern Branch of the (Israeli) Islamic Movement (to which Ra'am Party is subordinate) ceased its terror activities, and entered the arena of Israeli politics, was not a change of heart, but rather an understanding that they could not survive engaging in combat activities, and so made a pragmatic decision to change tactics.
He says that they actually coordinated this in prison in the 1980's, with Gazan Islamic leaders that were soon to found Hamas.
He goes on to say that Hamas was inspired by the (Israeli) Islamic Movement's Usar al-Jihad terror organization (1979-80) to establish the infamous Qassam Brigades.

It’s never happened to me before.
Yup, I ran out of gas and I was between Black Eagle and Fort Benton. I departed the Touro Campus in Great Falls and knew that I needed gas. GPS sent me on three miles of local roads and I was sure that between Great Falls and Black Eagle I’d see a gas station. As I saw the sign that said 36 miles to Fort Benton I wondered if I’d make it, but turning back seemed silly because I was on a tight schedule.
I messaged Chavie that it wasn’t look good, while I had two of the kiddos with me on the journey to the unknown. About eleven miles outside of Fort Benton, it started stalling and that was it, we had ran out. Embarrassing for a guy who is generally organized and on top of his game.
I got out of the car. Two cars passed and the third pullled over. “I’ve got you. I’ll be right back” is what he said. It took about thirty minutes as he drove to Fort Benton loaded up with five gallons of gas and came back to help us out. He didn’t ask for anything other than the gas reimbursement. I of course tipped him well and off we went.
I love Montanans. I love the Montana spirit. I am grateful to Chad Hoggan, owner of Chad’s Shop, an auto body shop in Fort Benton, for saving my day and doing it with so much kindness.

Wrapped Tefillin with Oren Zeev, the Israeli-born, $2.7 billion “lone wolf” VC.
I walked into a coffee shop in Tel Aviv a few minutes early for a meeting and spotted my friend @ericmreiner. I went over to say hello and noticed he was sitting with @orenzeev.
Oren is the founder of Zeev Ventures, managing $2.7 billion across 11 funds. He’s backed some of the most successful technology companies of the past two decades.
His investment style is as unconventional as his track record: no team, no meetings, no investment memos, and he’s never shown an LP a single slide from a pitch deck.
I introduced myself, and naturally, I asked him about Tefillin.
He told me he only wraps once every decade.
In fact, he had recently wrapped with our mutual friend @MosheSshalev, co-founder of Decart, one of his standout Israeli investments.
After a little convincing, I had the honor of wrapping Tefillin with the legend himself.
