The Triple Lock is the only think protecting our sovereignty. Without it there is no mechanism to stop the Govnt of the day sending our defence forces on EU/NATO military operations overseas. And we have ample evidence as to why we, the people, shouldn't trust F/FG on this.
👉 No other country in the world gives Trump 🇺🇸, Putin 🇷🇺 and Xi 🇨🇳 a veto over their own foreign policy. The Irish 'Triple Lock' is the opposite of national sovereignty. The world has drastically changed. Irish military neutrality remains steadfast but must adapt. .@sinnfeinireland seem to want Irish soldiers confined to their barracks. No young person wants to join such an army. Irish peacekeepers have a proud record around the world and are now needed more than ever. I welcome today's reform by the Irish parliament 🇮🇪.

Ireland has a long tradition of being neutral country. A central component of our Neutrality as stated by Michael Martin in 2013 is the triple lock. #ReferendumNow #GiveUsOurSay #TripleLock – at Fingal, Ireland
Micheál Martin has finally met his toughest opponent on the triple lock: Micheál Martin. Well, he did invite us to go back over his record

Fianna Fáil got 21.9% of the vote in the general election. 78.1% of voters did not support your manifesto with a 1st preference vote. An Irish Times poll showed 44% in favour of keeping the Triple Lock. 34% for removing it. You have no mandate to do this. None. The country is against you.
Fianna Fáil sought a mandate to reform the Triple Lock at the 2024 general election. We were elected as the largest party and put Triple Lock reform in the Programme for Government. We will progress the legislation this week, because it is in Ireland’s interests to do so.

The worst leader of his party in its history, overseeing an historic betrayal of its foundational values and its defining international achievements, along with the majority preference of the people of Ireland. Russia does NOT have a "veto" on Irish participation in peacekeeping. Neither does any other country. This is a vicious misrepresentation of how the United Nations works. It is disinformation. Without a UN mandate, Ireland MUST NEVER participate in any EU mission in Lebanon. Because if there is no UN mandate, there is no peacekeeping. It's not peacekeeping. If our soldiers end up there under an EU command, without the protection of a clear UN peacekeeping mandate, they will end up suborned into being wingmen for Israel's apocalyptic criminality - its scorched-earth landgrab and occupation in South Lebanon. Pressed into complicity by the Zionist governments in Europe who define the mission, and abandoned to it by a political class in Ireland - personified in the Taoiseach - who will never say no to "our European partners." That is what is really at stake with the government's plans to abolish the Triple Lock. It isn't about preserving Ireland's participation in peacekeeping. It's about destroying that legacy forever, and blowing up our relationship with the majority of the world in the process.
🇮🇪 “How dare you lecture me about Irish neutrality?” An Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD Russia “should not have a veto on Irish participation in peacekeeping.” #LeadersQuestions

When 12 people were killed in Charlie Hebdo attacks, world leaders thronged to Paris for a solidarity march But no world leader has organised a march to protest killing over 100,000 people—25,000+ children, 300+ journalists, 2000+ health workers, 405 UN staff—in Gaza and Lebanon

What have you been offered to sell out our Neutrality Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD? While speaking in the Dáil as an opposition leader in 2013, Martin strongly defended the triple lock system, warning that any attempts to alter it would damage Irish neutrality. #SaveOurNeutrality #Dáil #Neutrality

Micheál Martin all over. Disingenuous arguments about 'maintaining our tradition of peacekeeping' when the removal of the Triple Lock ensures the opposite - overseas military operations outside the UN. Followed by a snide 'pro-Russia' remark launched at Sinn Féin.
The vast majority of people want Ireland to maintain our proud tradition of peacekeeping. Reforming the triple lock ensures our decisions on participation in peacekeeping missions are not dictated by a veto from Russia, China, or the United States.

You want to abandon the Triple Lock because you want Ireland to abandon UN Peacekeeping Missions and do Battlegroups instead. You want Ireland to support + get involved in Western Imperialists Wars that are causing untold Destruction in the World. You are a disgrace to Ireland...

The Irish government is pushing ahead with its strategy to abolish the Triple Lock and to work for ever increasing cooperation and integration with EU & NATO military structures and strategies. Another step in that direction will take place in the Dáil tomorrow.

"Housing should be a right and not a business." Protests have hit Lisbon, as youth flooded the streets on Saturday as Portugal struggles with a soaring cost of living. Organized by the General Confederation of Portuguese Workers, the rally coincided with protests in Porto and Coimbra, with calls for higher salaries, stronger public services, and action on rising housing, food, and fuel costs. The demonstrations came after police targeted a housing protest encampment in Porto on Thursday, with activists alleging excessive force.

British Left-Wing Media Outlet ‘The Canary’ Has Announced It Is Officially Closing After 11 Years Of Journalism The platform was de-banked by Lloyds Bank & later announced a second account with Metro Bank was also frozen. A major attack was launched against the platform, which The Canary said made continuing to operate untenable. The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) condemned the move by Lloyds Bank as a “disturbing precedent for UK press freedom”. Online commentators have warned that the ability of the establishment to cripple media organisations critical of them creates a hostile environment that will pressure other news outlets to fall into line or face similar potential backlash.
