After Nintendo shut down Mario Kart Tour, fans created private servers so people could keep playing, but to get access, you had to apply and get approved by the Discord admins.
Then someone leaked the game’s APK, and the admins got angry, shut down the servers, and threatened to delete accounts.
They wanted to keep the game alive, but apparently only for people they approved.
Imagine gatekeeping a mobile game that Nintendo already shut down.
