Texas State Survives a Thriller, Defeats Utah State 20-17!
It wasn’t pretty, but the Bobcats found a way to win a nail-biter and improve to 2-1 in Pac-12 play.
Key Performers:
• Jaylen Jenkins sparked the offense with a 100-yard kickoff return TD.
• Brad Jackson finished with 167 passing yards and a rushing touchdown.
• Jacob Bonilla delivered when it mattered, connecting on a 51-yard field goal and the eventual 37-yard game-winner.
The Biggest Coaching Decision?
Calling timeout just before Utah State’s potential game-tying field goal. The kicker made the first attempt, but it didn’t count. On the second attempt, he missed. A perfectly timed timeout that may have saved the game.
After producing 716 yards against Colorado State, TXST managed just 250 tonight. The offense has plenty to clean up, but winning close games is what builds confidence.
Back-to-back Pac-12 victories. The Bobcats are finding ways to win.
