How do you justify abstaining, when the minority goes all out? You of all would know that the right to vote came with blood and sweat, and lives lost.
As darkies we should never take voting granted.
In the end, the writing is on the wall—properly displayed in percentages.
It begs the obvious question: what is it about YOU that produced this performance? Why is it that you have lost almost half of your vote share? Yes, YOU!
As I have said before, go argue with the wall.
As for me, I did abstain. A deliberate, conscientious abstention.
The right to abstain is not limited to parliament or council sessions. It is very much constitutional, and available to all citizens—especially those who DO register to vote!
That our voter registration increases by millions every time is a sign of genuine interest. When they do not show up to vote, after turning out to register, they may very well be refusing to choose between different versions of failure!
Voting MUST NEVER be a conscription; it is a right that comes with responsibility—one that can’t be deployed without conscience.
Above all, NO ONE is entitled to people's votes. VOTES are earned, just like respect. To say otherwise is the gospel according to dictators.
How else can we explain that Mandela campaigned in 1994 and lost both KZN and Western Cape, yet Mbeki won both 10 years later? They earned the votes through results on the ground by improving the living standards of our people. They were NOT ENTITLED to them!
Those who protest by deliberately not voting or deliberately spoiling their vote are exercising as sacred a right as the right to vote! A true revolutionary should know that, and would listen to them, for they too have registered a view!
It is in line with this spirit—the letter of which is in the Constitution, that 'every citizen is free to make political choices'—that Ronnie Kasrils, alongside Barney Pityana and others, in 2014 called on people to protest by spoiling their vote.
I’m sure you’ll agree, these are stalwarts of the anti-apartheid movement. They understood that no one—NOT even their own comrades—is ENTITLED to votes.
But first, go to the wall, brother. There, the measure of your weight is fully determined."

The insults I used to hurl at this lady when I was still in the EFF cult... OMG! I was so shameless and I am embarrassed now, looking back... I, sometimes understand the minions who are still there.. Julius must be using a strong muthi bafethu, angekhe..
I also cannot explain my behavior when I was there. So, abo Gardie are zombies, please bare with them. Something psychological happens when you are an EFF supporter that you can't explain.. But when you finally left, it feels like an awakening or you're getting reborn..

Legit Question @JusstAlpha 👌🏿
You are not being honest, that was the most prudent question. Him asking that question, where most tend to tip toe around CIC means he is going far.
Not many ask the right questions, glad you don’t have time to nurse politicians feelings. You have a bright future.

Ok. Can we then agree that your position is not based on “democratic principles” but your personal feelings?
Cause if you argue that denying Helen Zille the mayoral chains violates the substantive intent of our democracy, then you should argue the same for any party. Cause democratic principles must be consistent regardless of “personal feelings”. Am I wrong?

I have no interest in the MKP or the EFF. I am convinced that they are destructive for South Africa. They will enable corruption, enhance state malfunction and result in societal collapse. Any party that enters into alliance with either does not have SA’s interest at heart.
Your views are always skewed towards your favs, you could never hide your bias and double standards.
Flip flopping professor.

3. Denying Helen the position of mayor is legally permissible but would violate the substantive intent of our democracy. How can the biggest party be excluded? We should therefore try and avoid it if at all possible? So what are Helen’s options for coalition partners?
My ward, voted for you. Take heart, it was never going to be easy to dethrone de Kock.
