Thank God Serbia borders Europe, which is why we preserved our democracy. If we bordered Russia, we might have suffered the same fate as Belarus or Georgia. That's why I'm also sad tonight, because our Georgian and Belarusian friends continue to suffer the fate we managed to escape.

Dear Serbia, you have made your voice heard! After nearly two years of protests for democracy, the rule of law and the fight against corruption, Serbians turned out in historic numbers. Congratulations to the Student List on your victory! These are the very values at the heart of our European Union. A new chapter can begin for Serbia. The door to the EU is open, and we are ready to move forward together.

In Serbia, @avucic has conceded defeat. The Students’ List has won an absolute majority in the elections. Celebrations have begun in the streets across Serbia. Sound familiar?

Vucic conceded in the Serbian elections today. Incredible, who would think. Serbians once again proved that they can do it and they can do it with protest organization, something they have been very good at! What a success.

NEVER IN OUR LIVES 🇬🇪
Guram Gabeskiria, the Mayor of Sokhumi, was murdered just after the city fell on September 27. In this rare footage, captured moments before his execution, a voice in Russian commands, "On your knees." His reply is defiant: "Never in my life." Never. In. My. Life.

A 14-year-old teenager from Chelyabinsk recorded a message to Putin “I can no longer stay silent. I want you not just to end the ‘special military operation,’ but to disappear from our country, from our news, from our homes, from our fears — and never come back again,” he says in the video.

This poor kid couldn’t stop trembling through it. Evil empire.
After waiting for my train at Kyiv station for 3.5 hours, the moment I thought I had enough, at 2am, ballistic rockets arrived. Very loud explosions all around. Girl next to me can’t stop shaking. For god’s sake, give this people air defense. Unbelievable cruelty.

Another round of "brilliant" negotiations is completed. The only difference this time is that Witkoff and Kushner came to deliver Putin's demands personally after kissing his boot in the Kremlin. We are on, what, 9th circle of this cycle? 1,5 years wasted and countless lives.

Russia is hitting Europe with a wave of increasingly kinetic hybrid attacks. With this, Putin wants to scare us away from supporting Ukraine. He will not succeed. To the contrary, we will increase our support and invest in our own defence. We are also planning the most far-reaching sanctions against Russia yet. This is the best way to stop Putin. My press conference with @HMcEntee following today’s meeting of Defence Ministers ↓

Russian regime is after own children and we are here for it. Gharibashvili deserves everything and more! Even though whatever is happening has nothing to do with fair justice..
The Prosecutor's Office has filed new charges against Irakli Gharibashvili for accepting a bribe in particularly large amounts. The charge carries a prison sentence of 11 to 15 years. The former PM is already serving a five-year sentence for other corruption crimes.

Russia’s attack against a shopping centre in Kryvyi Rih shows the absolute and utter depravity of Moscow’s war. This is terror by design. Russia wants to make Ukrainian cities unliveable. I am putting forward the most far-reaching Russia sanctions listings since the start of the war. The pressure must be intensified until Moscow ends the war. EU Foreign and Defence Ministers will discuss how to expand our support for Ukraine, including air and missile defence, when they meet in less than two weeks in Dublin.

BREAKING: Former Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, once one of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s closest associates, has published a letter that he says was sent to him on Ivanishvili’s orders. The letter offers him a deal: fully confess to one of the charges against him in exchange for his sentence being reduced to up to five years. Garibashvili says he will publish a detailed statement tomorrow in which he will “tell everything.” He also says that he holds Bidzina Ivanishvili personally responsible for the safety of himself and his family.

russians got furious after German journalist Michael Martens asked President Zelenskyy what Europeans should concretely do to help him kill more russian soldiers. They’re now apparently trying to find every single Nazi in his family tree and attack him over it. Posting this, of course, to show my support for him. This is exactly the kind of precision in language ALL Europeans should have when it comes to russia. @Andric1961 Danke, sir! 🫡

Georgian Dream has cancelled admissions to Tbilisi State University's European Studies programme — per Simon Janashia. This after students chose it, sat their exams, and earned their places. The message couldn't be clearer.

🇬🇪18 years ago today, Russian tanks rolled into Georgia. The war lasted five days. Its consequences are still unfolding, from Crimea to Bucha. The West's lack of response in Aug 2008 taught Putin the century's most expensive lesson - aggression against neighbors is cost-free 1/9
