3) Carry a bright torch to distract someone who is being aggressive so you can get away. 4) Consider carrying a personal safety alarm as the noise will call attention to you and drive away an assailant. 3/

5) Be careful of wearing clothes that are easy to grab while alone at night or at a protest. Loose fitting clothes can be a hazard. 4/

5) Don't announce where you are going or what you will be doing ahead of time, instead post after the fact. If this is part of your job then ensure safe travel through taxi's (a venue can organise this for you).

6) Night time can leave us vulnerable, travelling alone in quiet areas is dangerous for anyone. Try not to walk alone and arrange for someone to meet you at the other end, if possible.
