In Oregon, voters are labeled Active, Inactive and Canceled. Officials maintain the voter rolls by looking for deaths, moves, not voting and more (that process is a whole other topic). If officials decide a voter may be ineligible the voter is mailed a confirmation card. Until July 20, 2017, Oregon’s confirmation cards warned that the registration would be canceled if the person did not respond or vote in the next two federal elections. That cancellation language was then dropped. THEN officials said that without the warning they could not legally cancel those records, so inactive names piled up to that 800,000 number. In January 2026 (likely spurred on by the Judicial Watch lawsuit) SOS Tobias Read directed: 1. Cancel about 160,000 inactive records that already met the federal two-election test from before July 2017. 2. Put cancellation language back on confirmation cards so the remaining inactive records (on the order of 640,000 at the time) can be processed going forward. Take Back Oregon!

🚨 JUST IN: President Trump just announced FULL UNCONDITIONAL PARDONS for three Alaskans charged with FIXING ENGINES "They want to put them in jail for 10 YEARS because they fixed an engine. How SICK" "If you MURDER somebody, no problem! Unless a Republican does the murdering. Then it's, you know, the electric chair, right?" "I'm giving each one of the three an UNCONDITIONAL pardon." This is AMAZING. Biden's EPA tried putting these mechanics in prison, but Trump is giving them their FULL FREEDOM back. 🇺🇸

OREGON MIGHT ELECT A REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1982. Christine Drazan has a real shot, and Fox's Clay Travis says it's not about national politics. It's because Oregonians are fed up. Downtown Portland got so bad the city lost its chance at a baseball franchise and a brand-new stadium. Years of chaos, crime, and failed leadership have moderates and independents ready for a change. Oregon, a fresh start is on the ballot. Vote Drazan.

Yes, in Oregon you can register to vote using a utility bill or a bank statement.
So if you look at the form, having a pay stub can get you registered to vote. What if someone comes to Oregon and works for 6 months, yet lives in Missouri, does that mean they can register in Oregon to vote? 🤔

Every state and local election official is on notice – knowingly encouraging noncitizens to vote or conspiring to fraudulently register noncitizens is a federal crime. The @CivilRights Division is ready to help with compliance as American citizens deserve free and fair elections!

What are your thoughts oregon? Are we ready for new leadership?
Tina Kotek refuses to acknowledge the truth that she has been the primary driver of cost increases for Oregon families across our state.

Really strange how the economies and businesses in Tennessee, Ohio, Arizona, Florida, Texas and North Carolina are booming. Why don’t tariffs impact those states’ businesses? Maybe, just maybe, Oregon’s woes are not the tariffs, but poor state leadership.
Trump’s tariff taxes are squeezing small businesses in every corner of Oregon. I signed a law to create a new grant program to help them offset those rising costs - because Oregonians shouldn’t have to foot the bill for reckless decisions made in Washington, D.C.

‼️Well would you look at that. Kotek- your smear campaign is not going to work… Here is a post by Nicole Riehl on Facebook spitting facts… 👇🏻👇🏻 I WAS IN THAT ROOM. So let’s talk about what actually happened. Governor Kotek’s campaign says Christine Drazan “skipped the vote to meet with business donors.” I helped coordinate that meeting. We were NOT there as “business donors.” We were Oregon small-business owners asking our government to LISTEN. That meeting happened eight days after my mom died. I was grieving, exhausted and still showed up because what is happening to small businesses in Oregon matters that much to me. Other business owners took time away from their businesses and families to show up too. We talked about taxes, regulation, permitting, employment costs and the barriers Oregon businesses are facing. Here’s the context that post leaves out: The bill Drazan missed passed 29–0. Her vote would not have changed the outcome. She spent that hour listening to Oregon business owners and was back in Salem that afternoon for a Senate committee hearing. And the article Kotek’s own campaign linked describes the meeting as a roundtable with business leaders discussing the challenges of operating and growing Oregon businesses and creating jobs. Yet somehow that became: “Skipped the vote to meet with business donors.” See how much context can disappear in six words? And here’s what makes this especially frustrating for me: I reached out to Governor Kotek’s office asking her to meet with us about these exact issues. Her office didn’t even respond to my email. Christine Drazan called me directly and listened to me. She the. Followed up with actions after the round table and still is following up and calling, 7 months later. She showed up. She listened. She took action. Then Kotek’s campaign turned the business owners her own office wouldn’t even respond to into a political attack line. I was there. I know why we were in that room. This isn’t about red vs. blue for me. It’s about telling the whole truth and listening to the people trying to keep businesses alive in this state. Governor Tina Kotek for Oregon, the invitation still stands. Come sit down with us as business owners. We have plenty to say. (Original post in comments)

Most demographic reports often tout numbers - in and out migration. What is just as important is what is stated below,, and often forgotten — WHO is moving in an out (what is their income level, their age, etc).
Oregon’s population finally turned positive in 2024—but the income numbers tell a different story. Oregon gained roughly 5,600 residents, yet migration data show a $476 million net loss in adjusted gross income in 2022–23. Households earning $200K+ accounted for $403 million of that loss. Washington captured the most Oregon households and income. So the real question isn’t simply “Are people moving to Oregon?” It’s who is leaving, who is coming, and what income are they bringing with them? The data show Oregon is replacing population—but losing a disproportionate share of its highest-income households. That’s an economic warning sign Portland and Salem shouldn’t dismiss. @GovTinaKotek @MayorKWilson
