Over 100+ orgs led by Design it For Us, Young People's Alliance, Parents Rise, NCOSE, and ParentsTogether.
Wow a lot of pushback to the House version of KOSA from a long list of groups here. Many were key to drafting prior versions. I was wondering if they’d stick together and it seems they are techoversight.org/wp-content…

HAPPENING TODAY: We’re urging members to vote NO on the KIDS Act.
This is a Trojan horse for bad policy, bad politics, blanket preemption, and an industry bailout in the courts.

I remember the day when Mark Zuckerberg apologized to us in the Senate with a mealy-mouthed attempt to make us feel better. Today in court, I hope that apology bites him in the butt; there is no excuse for the damage that his social media platforms are doing to our children.

🚨 HAPPENING TODAY: Mark Zuckerberg takes the stand to answer for Meta's choice to prioritize profit over our kids' safety.
This trial is a reckoning for Mark Zuckerberg and his trillion-dollar company.
No more empty apologies. It's time for real action.

Tech giants earn billions designing platforms that target, manipulate, and addict kids causing devastating impacts on their health and wellbeing. When kids get hurt, Section 230 shields Big Tech from accountability. No other industry gets this protection. Our kids deserve better.

Section 230's anniversary is a reminder of how far we still have to go. For too long, this law has carved out special protections for tech platforms that don't exist anywhere else—leaving families who've been hurt without recourse.

"We should match [the Senate's] level of ambition to protect kids," @USRepKCastor says in the subcommittee markup about the bipartisan Senate version of KOSA.
Without a duty of care, Big Tech companies will not be proactive about mitigating online harms. It's that simple.

As the House Subcommittee markup of KOSA kicks off, ParentsSOS members are in the room holding pictures of their children to remind legislators of the urgent need to deliver the strongest possible version of KOSA to protect kids online. #PassKOSA

It is a shame that organizations like the NCAA have for so long been able to benefit from college athletes’ hard work and sacrifice while the athletes themselves are often exploited and mistreated.
Our statement opposing the SCORE Act:

I lived the restrictions that kept me from earning while Vanderbilt and the NCAA benefited. The NCAA wants antitrust immunity so it can police athlete deals and return to an era of limited compensation and total control. Congress cannot allow that.

📢 The only thing the #SCOREAct protects is the @NCAA. It only allows NIL deals “at rates commensurate with” those paid to non-athletes, and the NCAA gets to decide whether those rates are reasonable. 📢
Here's what it does and doesn't do:
→It does not protect athletes' outside employment, limit travel, protect athletes’ class time or study time, or help international students.
→It does not create any physical safety requirements like concussion or heat exhaustion protocols.
→It does let the P4 block small schools with growing programs from moving into FBS football.
→It does let them kick smaller schools out of P4 football.
→It does let the NCAA go back to putting poverty level salary caps on assistant coach salaries.
→It does delete every state law that comes close to touching NIL or any other athlete benefit or protection.
We know because the NCAA has been doing these things for 60 years and the SCORE Act let's in continue with impunity.

Today’s vote on the SCORE Act matters. Antitrust immunity for the NCAA would lock athletes out of the ability to challenge a monopoly that controls their opportunities. College athletes deserve the same rights and protections as every other American. Congress should vote NO!

📜 Happy Constitution Day! Signed in 1787, it remains a living promise.
AAJ members honor it daily—protecting the right to jury trial, holding wrongdoers accountable, and championing civil justice.
Thank you for carrying forward the principles that strengthen our democracy. 💙

The removal of the AI moratorium in the #BigBeautifulBill comes after parents who’ve lost their children turned their heartbreak into action and now work tirelessly to shape a safer future for families everywhere.
Take Justice Back retweeted
Parents like @Jennie_DeSerio deserve the power to hold Big Tech accountable. But the new “compromise” from @MarshaBlackburn/@SenTedCruz does the opposite—it shields tech giants and adds new legal loopholes.
Congress must STOP this recklessness and stand with families.

👏 We applaud @FrankPallone, @JanSchakowsky, @RepRaulRuizMD, and @RepYvetteClarke for speaking up about AI’s risks and the need to better protect kids online. 🧵
