TB/CLE v LAD = hell on earth I hope both teams lose CWS v LAD = coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb (let’s go coughing baby) TB/CLE v MIL = PLEASEEEEE BREWERS CWS v MIL = best case scenario
And just like that, we're down to only six possible 2026 World Series matchups... C'mon now, Rays-Brewers, who's with me? 🙋‍♂️

Glad this account has moved from “The Yankees are inherently better from Tampa” to “Playoff humiliations are the expectation” in record time. Will be even better seeing the projection tweets and McMahon rationalizations this offseason.
"This isn't normal. Other teams don't lose like this. The Yankees of old would never do this." 2001: Team with the most plot armor of all time takes a 3-2 lead in the World Series, goes back to Arizona needing a split against an expansion team to win its fourth straight title. Playoff Riser Andy Pettitte gets destroyed in game 6, team never has a chance. Playoff GOAT Mariano Rivera allows a hit, makes an error himself, gets an out, then allows two more hits to lose the World Series. 2002: Team that has won four straight pennants allows 31 runs in four games, including 26 in the last three, to lose the ALDS despite having HFA and having won 103 games. Playoff Riser Andy Pettitte gets crushed for his second straight time in the postseason. Torre leaves David Wells in to allow EIGHT RUNS in a do or die game. 2003: 101-win team can't touch "Brad Penny," leaves five men on base in extra innings of game four with a chance to go up 3-1, gives up a walk off homer to the eighth hitter on a 91-win team. ANOTHER expansion team beats them and this one celebrates on their field. 2004: You already know what happened. Rivera walks the seventh hitter in game four. Dynasty Cornerstone Bernie Williams leaves the bases loaded in the 11th. Five LOB in extras again. Gordon and Rivera combine to blow the lead in game five, the Yankees leave six on base in extras. Jeter, Bernie, and Posada combine to go 2-12 in game six. Torre goes to JAVIER VAZQUEZ to lose game seven in the second inning. 2005: Get Bullpen Game'd by 22-year old Ervin Santana. 2006: Blow a 3-1 lead in game two because Torre won't pull Mussina. Get shut out by 41-year old Kenny Rogers. "Jeremy Bonderman" pitches into the 9th in game four. 2007: BUGS! LOSE BECAUSE OF BUGS! WERE THERE NO BUGS WHEN THE OTHER TEAM WAS ON THE FIELD? BUGS. Also get dominated by, at the time, Fausto Carmona. 2008: New manager, bring back a 94-win team, miss playoffs entirely. Can anyone tell me which of these wasn't "embarrassing?" In which of these years did the Yankees look good losing" At least they were equal opportunity losers to the NL, ALE, ALC, and ALW!

The Yankees are the only team that is unable to platoon. You might be wondering why that's true? This organization is too loyal to veterans to make the right decisions. Goldschmidt and Grichuk get extra at bats because they're friends with Judge and Boone.

Remarkably on brand for this absolute mouse of a baseball player to record his first loss against a playoff team....actually in the playoffs. Unfortunately only got to tag him for 2 over 4.2 IP, but god was it satisfying to send this guy home on his start. Cloudy Gray blamed everything but himself for his New York tenure and was jumping mile high at the chance of getting to beat the Yankees. *Easily* my least favorite Yankee through the Judge era and it's not even close.
Sonny Gray went 8-0 with a 1.29 ERA in 9 starts against teams that made the Postseason this year 👀 He takes the mound for the Red Sox in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series!

you know what, he will ALWAYS have that 10 pitch at bat against cam schlittler in the first inning last night that did absolutely fucking nothing 🥹
Adley Rutschman has played in seven playoff games and never experienced a single win. Feel for him

Red Sox miracle run led by “sogard” “gasper” “Rafaela” was probably the worst storyline in baseball and I’m glad they’re going out sad

I have so much second hand embarrassment for them right now lol. What happened to the big bad Red Sox? Celebrating after losing a game and series in pretty lopsided fashion would give me the ick if I was a Sox fan
#RedSox are out on the Trop field to get ready to celebrate their playoff berth

With a minimum of 50 groundballs, Ernie Clement has the 10th highest wOBA-xwOBA. Of this group of 10 players, he has the 9th highest EV (Jake McCarthy, who has 99th percentile sprint speed), the 6th best sprint speed, and the 2nd most GBs. He also pulls the most groundballs out of this group.

I’m ngl too many people have been trying to fight the “anti analytics” crowd for the Nth time the past 2 days when at this point it’s either you get it or you don’t. Brad Pitt said it best in the totally accurate baseball analytics movie Moneyball: Adapt or Die
