So JLP FM decides to push the fake graphic. I ask any reasonable person to total the list and tell me you got 84 billion dollars. Research has shown that many items cant be verified and most have not spent half of the allocation. Imagine posting fake news.
Schools have been handed the biggest slice of the Government’s Hurricane Melissa recovery money to date, with $25 billion allocated to the Education Ministry for repairs.
But less than half of it has been spent so far.
The Government has given a breakdown of the over $84 billion it has spent so far to address post-Hurricane Melissa recovery.

The rangers got talking point of 84 billion dollars spent and so they created a list out of thin air, not knowing the list totalled 102.89 billion dollars (because nobody will check). I went and researched the info and as we say there is a diff between allocation and spent.

A month after defence attorneys mounted an islandwide silent protest and scaled back their services over what they described as “shortcomings” in the Firearms (Prohibition, Restriction and Regulation) Act, 2022 (Firearms Act), the National Security Council (NSC) has recommended that individuals convicted of illegal possession of a firearm should now face a new minimum mandatory sentence of 20 years imprisonment.

🔘 UPDATE: Why Jamaica is banning official overseas travel
It all comes down to money!
Jamaica's Cabinet Secretary, Audrey Sewell, has issued a memorandum to the Financial Secretary and Permanent Secretaries explaining the rationale for the immediate ban on official overseas travel.
"Government must lead by example in demonstrating prudence, restraint and an unwavering commitment to directing scarce public resources towards the country's most urgent priorities," she wrote.
▫️ Sewell said the unprecedented destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa has placed enormous pressure on Jamaica's financial resources and public sector capacity, declaring that the country is now at a "critical juncture", requiring the Government to exercise the "highest degree of fiscal discipline".
▫️ She said Ministers and senior public officials must remain firmly focused on national reconstruction, economic recovery and the effective delivery of public services.
▫️ The ban applies across the public sector, regardless of whether travel is funded by taxpayers or external organisations. It takes immediate effect and will remain in place until March 31, 2027.
▫️Overseas travel may only be permitted with written prior approval for post-Melissa reconstruction and recovery, national security, approved board meetings, essential tourism promotion and genuine emergencies of compelling national importance.

🔘 DEVELOPING: Jamaica restricting official travel until end of March 2027
The Jamaican Government has imposed an immediate ban on official overseas travel by ministers and public sector officials until March 31, 2027, except in special circumstances. This coincides with mounting scrutiny on government spending amid a slow Hurricane Melissa recovery and rising inflation, one year after the disaster.
▫️The directive, issued by Cabinet Secretary Audrey Sewell, applies across the public sector, regardless of whether travel is funded by taxpayers or external organisations.
▫️The Government says the unprecedented destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa demands strict spending controls, with financial resources and the attention of senior officials focused on reconstruction, economic recovery and public services.
▫️ Previously approved trips must be reviewed, while non-essential conferences, training and ceremonial engagements should be deferred or conducted virtually.
▫️Overseas travel may only be permitted for post-Melissa reconstruction and recovery, national security, approved board meetings, essential tourism promotion and genuine emergencies of compelling national importance.
▫️ All exceptions require prior written approval from the Cabinet Secretary, supported by justification of the necessity of the trip, cost and expected benefits.

The is what Jamaicans pay the @JamaicaConstab Commissioner $18M and @AndrewHolnessJM $28.5M annually to do.
Poorly planned operation.
Where is the JCF bodycam footage?
All the JCF does is kill off the Jamaican people.
It's really vulgar and disgraceful.

Am i the only person who thinks (in virtually all cases) that BWCs would help the 🚔 in these situations? Both in relation to public support and in rebutting claims of excessive force. The benefits must outweigh the negatives.

They wont stand at the podium and tell you that the losses at the JUTC is at a record high nor will they tell you govt subvention is also a record high. They give a part of the story to fool the unitiated. With less buses thus less passengers the JUTC is bleeding more money.

Many taxes below projection thus creating a shortfall in the budget. Do you know which taxes are above projection? GCT and SCT; two consumption taxes. Do you know why? The higher the price the more tax you pay.

They have no interest in the masses having access to land as it would reduce the pool that they have eyes on to possess for themselves.
They blocked the Crown Land Reform Bill claiming it is unconstitutional.
It is not.
In this video I explain why.
Section 55(3)(a) only bars a Private Member's Bill that _imposes_ a new tax or a new charge. My Bill does neither.
It REMOVES stamp duty and transfer tax for disaster victims so they can get their title without paying to prove they own what they already own.
And the faster titling for disaster areas still has to go through the normal Budget process. It does not impose a charge by itself.
This is about letting Jamaicans secure their land after 25 years instead of 60, and giving families hit by disasters a fair chance to get their titles.
Watch, share, and let me know what you think.
