Here is a longer edit of making a tentacle-handled glass mug-
This design is one of my absolute favorites,
The ergonomics of the tentacle handle is second to none!
Hope you enjoy and thank you for checking it out
Yesterday I got to marry the love of my life- the day was literally perfect
I am so thankful and feel absolutely blessed
Day 155 of 365
The final day. The first day.
Tomorrow I have the amazing honor of marrying my love. I get to leave this current life and embark on a new one with a few small words that mean a whole lot. Thank you to everyone who has sent warm wishes and to all those who I know will soon as well. We have made it. See you on the other side.
Big smiles yall
Day 154 of 365
A Glimpse
Layered honeycomb over vortex marble, a nice shifting perspective.
Big smiles, family is showing up, meals are being shared, soon I’ll marry my love and life will return to normal, for now we are enjoying the chaos - at least I am ;)
Day 153 of 365
A little bit of focus
I’ve been posting most my videos at 60x speed or higher recently, mostly to show the start to finish of a process - at least in the essence of it- today I wanted to slow it down a smidge and post something at 4x speed just to get a bit closer to what the real time of this process is, at 4x speed this 30 second clips is closer to 2 minutes of real time.
In the actual moment, it feels like a lot more time elapses and I’m always impressed looking back at clips and realizing ‘how fast’ some things actually happen. I think because of the make it or break style of work I do and the focus required, time kind of expands in those moments into something that feels much greater.
I also wanted to show this section of the clip a little slower because ‘everything is a bird’ and I can really get caught up after I twist this section of a whale out, I always feel like I’m looking at a swan or a flamingo that is trying to force its way into existence, despite my original intention to create a whale.
I used to listen to the glass and follow its ideas. Now a days I impose my own onto them. For better or worse. Anywho, appreciate yall and hope the days are full of blessings
Big smiles
Day 152 of 365
Snapping glass ASMR
Glass is amazing for many reasons, on of them is its ability to withstand great weight and pressure when it’s perfect, and also snap like a twig when it’s got a little scratch on it! There is some science to it and it takes a bit of practice, but when everything lines up the glass snaps clean.
Big smiles yall
Day 151 of 365
Swimming with Sharks
I’ve always been a tad leery of our coastline, growing up in Northern California where the water is colder, the shelf is steep on many beaches and just my overall unfamiliarity with spending time in the water has led to a land lubbers existence.
I do sometimes try and convince myself I’ll go exploring with a snorkel and I’ll just grit my teeth through the cold, but it has yet to happen. Maybe one day!
For now, a big, dry, smile - cheers yall!
Day 150! Of 365
150 feels like an important milestone
Maybe it’s and maybe it isn’t, time will tell. It is time to get ready to celebrate though! We are on a short countdown from this point until wedding bells are going to ring! I’ll be at the shop on Monday but I don’t know when I’ll be back in the shop- for sure not until after the wedding as we tidy up and tie any loose ends! If you need me for any glass or shop related issues feel free to reach out to me here!
Hope yall have a wonderful night and big smiles yall!
Day 149 of 365
The ever important Prep
Sometimes ill get so wrapped up in prep I forget what it’s like to make a finished product. That hasn’t happened too recently but I would love to just melt colors for a week straight. Just melting the days away, a world full of colors.
Anyways! Enough daydreaming, back to work! 🤣
Big smiles yall
Day 148 of 365
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again
1% better everyday is 365% in a year. Even on the days you don’t feel like it, it feels like you are moving backwards, or you lose sight of the end goal.
Show up, dig deep, execute.
It’s a practice, not a perfection.
Big smiles yall
Even with all the wedding prep I wanted to make sure to get in on the this dance-off proposed by @CreaMetaX!

Day 147 of 365
Handling Business
A little hot shot of putting on a tentacle handle
It’s a fine line between misshaping the cup wall and getting everything hot enough to truly weld and blend together, every time you learn a little more and one wrong step and the whole cup can turn into a puddle of broken glass pieces.
Glass was great for teaching me separation from expectations and learning the lessons of impermanence. If I let every failure make me angry I would always be far to upset to keep creating, so you just got to let it go and keep your mind and heart set on making the next one.
Big smiles yall!
Day 146 of 365
Time to put on the gloves
People are often shocked I don’t wear gloves while I’m working with glass. The nature of glass is to insulate however so while the flame is concentrated the radiant heat typically isn’t too bad. When you get to these bigger projects though with lots of fluffy flames, gloves become a necessity as the radiant heat becomes a tad unbearable. My favorite!
Big smiles fam, it’s a beautiful day to have a beautiful day
Day 144 of 365
A wise couple once told me
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
Unfortunately I had already leapt without looking, stepped over a dollar chasing a dime and bit off well more than I could chew.
But you know what they say, you live and you learn, play with glass you get burned.
Big smiles yall!
Day 143 of 365
Volta
I was recently reminded about ‘Volta’ it’s using the least amount of heat and tools for a process - ‘the perfect steps’ I believe it’s an Italian term, and is part of the refinement conversation, how can you create something with perfect efficiency? Each muscle twitch important- intentional.
Someone asked me today while watching me work ‘do all glassblowers end up with carpal tunnel?’ I guess the repetitive muscle movements my hands and arms were making inspired the question, I already have carpal tunnel in my left wrist due to an injury - but regardless I couldn’t answer the question either way, maybe we do? A blessing and a curse.
Big smiles yall
Day 142 of 365
Gratitude defined Essence
Remaining thankful on the daily. Thankful for the flame, my friends, my family. The new people I see daily in my shop and the old friends that come to visit as well. I really couldn’t do it without yall, it truly warms my heart.
Big blessings, big smiles
Day 141 of 365
Sleeping on a turtles back
Sometimes dreams and memories get a little blurred, I’ll always be fond of my earliest dreams, even though sometimes they were intense, where movement felt stiff and light felt invasive.
I started lucid dreaming when I was very young, and I remember learning what a dream was at breakfast one morning as I described taking a trip to my great grandmas house the night before. My elder brother said ‘you must of been dreaming’
Big smiles yall - more dream chats soon
Day 140 of 365
Ya boy is tired
But we also almost half way home! I’m gonna need to stack up some footage on the quickness so im not trying to triple up as the wedding draws closer and closer - I’m definitely excited though and am very much looking forward to the day!
Let’s have a great 3 day weekend and get ready to smash June too! Let’s go team!
Big smiles yall!
