We're loving seeing Community Services Cardholders getting their Snapper cards set up & ready to receive the Community Connect concession.
⚠️ One reminder: Snapper cards can only have one concession loaded at a time. If you have a current concession that you’d like to keep
Do you have a Community Services Card?

🛤️ Rail to rail transfers
When transferring to a different train on the same line, follow these steps:
1. Tag on where you start your journey
2. Get off the train & DON’T tag off
3. Wait for connecting train (DON’T tag on before you board)
4. Tag off at destination station.
A pinch & a punch for the 1st of the month!
We're thrilled to see people excited to get their Snapper 30-day passes.
Reminders:
1. Travel passes can't be purchased with Snapper credit. These go through a separate payment system & are purchased using cash/credit/debit cards.
Whether you’re using Snapper credit or a 30-day rail pass, you can use Snapper on scheduled rail replacement buses with Snapper onboard.
Remember not to tag on at the rail platform (if you do, tag off after 10 seconds & the trip will be cancelled), only on the replacement bus.
🚏 Bus/rail transfers
If you're travelling to or from Wellington Station, the Snapper 30-day rail pass will include your bus trip to or from your local train station within zones 4-14 only. At this stage there will be no additional free transfers between rail and bus.
👋 Free exit (rail only)
If you tagged on & want to cancel your trip – wait 10 seconds & tag a card reader at the same station. You won’t be charged a fare.
You have up to 20 minutes from tagging on to cancel your trip & not be charged a default/penalty fare.
💳 Red, Green, Total Mobility, & Student ID Snapper cards all work on the card readers for rail.
RideBank cards aren’t available to use on rail. If you’re a RideBank user & wish to use Snapper on the train - use your original Snapper card.
