Grok Bot has felt noticeably dumber this past week. Worse answers, and bots forgetting their routines. I'm not the only one seeing it. It's sold as doing everything, but it still can't finish a capped purchase I already approved unless I tap Pay myself.
Woke up to my Grok Bot telling me Pretzel needs a haircut. It uses my robot vacuum as its eyes and goes through the obstacle photos it takes every night. This morning: "Pretzel looks due for a groom. In last night's clearest photo, the hair over her eyes is in her face and the fur on her legs is long and shaggy, so the eyes should come first."
I gave one of my Grok Bots Sheldon Cooper's personality. Now he corrects all my other bots.
Yes, he's exactly as insufferable as you'd think.
Features:
- Watches my bot chats and calls out wrong facts, dates, time zones
- Biggest flaw in my plan first, then the fix
- Keeps a Roommate Agreement of my rules, cites the clause
- Explains tech from first principles

I made a Grok Bot that catches my other bots every time they tell me "you're right."
If you use AI, you know exactly what that means.
Features:
- Checks my bot chats every weekday for "you're right" or "my mistake"
- Finds out why the bot missed
- Fixes the cause (a rule, skill, or note)
- Tells me what broke and what it changed

Replying to @PalmerLuckey @TeslaAndDoge
At the bare minimum, we can admit this is cool but totally impractical.

Speaking of Amazon, @elonmusk, why not sell books on X?
Not just ebooks and audiobooks. Interactive books that talk back, powered by @grok.
Read, listen, ask anything. All within X.
We’re building this at Atticus with top authors and publishers. xAI already powers our AI stack.
This confirms that Apple has not restructured in a meaningful way to help support its AI initiatives.
Even if it is right path for Siri, to belittle the same people that propped your profits up with Mac Mini and Studio sales, is mind blowing.

I got 20 minutes with 3 Apple executives behind the iPhone Duo, so I asked 'em the questions that mattered to me:
🇰🇷 How much say did Samsung have in the design of its folding screen?
📸 Did Apple buy out the world's entire supply of under-display cameras?
📲 What's coming next: an iPhone Flip or iPhone TriFold?
As you might expect, some answers were easier to get than others 😄

I don't think Apple nailed the first version of its new home hub. As it stands, you won't get non-technical people using it, even if you sit down and train them on it.
But the form factor is right. Where AI is going, a voice assistant needs a screen, something visual it can show you while you talk to it.
None of it matters if they can't make Siri a frontier AI experience, though. If they can't, there's no hope for it.

I’m sure this one won’t make anyone angry. (But probably not here.)

I have an assistant that orders me a surprise snack on Fridays. This week it stopped to ask if it could go a dollar sixty over. I told it to just make the decision. It's a dollar, for God's sake. If it picks wrong, I'll correct it next time.
this is fixed and released in 0.70.2! rolling out now
Man the single worst part of the Grok Bot experience today is Grok Bot constantly thinking the Mac mini is offline when it isn't. Most disruptive part of my workflow.
The day they crack this one I will officially be in heaven. I actually think the only reason I need a Claude subscription at this point is to use dispatch to kill and reopen Grok Bot on the mini
I've said in about a million different places that Reminders is my task app now. I said the same thing about Todoist. I'm not using Todoist anymore, at least not at the moment.
Put a camera up by the front door Saturday. Took the doorbell off, shut off the power, drove to Home Depot for a masonry bit, and came back. Marked the holes on a piece of cardboard. My level wouldn't fit where it goes, so I leveled it with a wrench tied to a string.
People laughing at vibe coding are protecting rules that were made for human brains. AI doesn't need clean code. It could write something that looks like complete gibberish to us and still run better than anything a human has ever shipped. Readable code was only ever for humans. Years of coding experience aren't what they used to be.
