Here is something we have been working on. We still have some ways to go but try it and give me feedback. The goal is to help people easily plan for vacations in different African countries with the help of local experts. We want people to discover the hidden gems, to stray from the beaten road and have a full experience on our motherland. You can apply to be a country expert ,or if you own a restaurant, hotel/bnb, or tour company, it is free to list. wapota.com/
Destination Zimbabwe is delighted to welcome Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Manchester United, who is in the country enjoying our offerings. Thank you for spending time in our beautiful destination, Sir Jim.

Whether it is operated by Zimswitch or not, it should be clear to banking customers. The SSL certificates said nothing about Zimswitch. How then can the public trust, or be protected online from phishing scams? See the Consumer Protection Act for further guidance.

Zimbabwe hasn't formally decided that mobile is the national payment rail — but the data suggests it is. By Q4 2025, mobile carried close to 9 in 10 electronic transactions, dwarfing cards, ATMs, & bank transfers combined. #dailyviz

Today I tip my hat to @WillarShoko. After months of pushing for a 🇿🇼 Starlink ground station, it looks like it’s finally happening. A major win for Zimbabwe...more capacity for Harare and beyond. Even the mockers will enjoy the benefits. 🤝
Good day Willard,
Zimbabwe's government continues to engage partners and fosters policies to promote investment in connectivity and infrastructure around the country, evidenced by the licensing of Starlink in the country.
We have seen an explosive uptake of the service and developments across the supply chain with local businesses participating in the uptake of the service. We encourage not only Starlink but other service providers to acknowledge the overwhelming acceptance of their services in the Zimbabwean market by reciprocating necessary investments to further satisfy consumer demand.
There is no policy nor directive preventing Starlink from setting up a ground station in Zimbabwe. Space X has concluded with one of the Starlink dealers in country for first Q1 2027. We will follow through so that as government we also monitor progress and implementation and ofcourse not reinvent the wheel. Definitely as government we play a key facilitatiry role for this.
We continue to correspond with our private sector players to invest in more infrastructure to increase service capacity in the country and offer Zimbabwean citizens unparalleled access to connectivity.
The policy of my Ministry and the Zimbabwean government is to ensure that Zimbabwe becomes Africa's premier technology hub through progressive and collaborative policies.

If you are in your 20s and 30s and feast on the negativity & run your life by it, I guarantee you will reach 50 with nothing. Absolutely, nothing.
Lecturers, students, parents: how is your school handling AI and assignments?
It's become a cat and mouse game. Students use AI to write assignments, then run them through the same detectors lecturers use, like Turnitin and GPTZero, and tweak until they pass. Now there are "humaniser" tools that rewrite AI text so detectors think a person wrote it.
Some colleges abroad have given up and scrapped assignments altogether.
So what's happening at your college or university here in Zimbabwe?
Students, have you ever been wrongly flagged for using AI? Lecturers, can you actually tell anymore? We want to hear both sides.
