If Michigan runs the table and makes the CFP, I'll donate $5,000 to @ChampCircleUofM.
If they don't, you donate $5,000 to the UM FOIA Fund.

For the first time in @metrotimes history, we’re no longer seeking comment from a candidate’s campaign because of repeated lies and bigoted attacks. That candidate is Mike Rogers, whose campaign keeps targeting Abdul El-Sayed’s Muslim faith. metrotimes.com/news/mike-rog…

Fact check: Mike Rogers is one of the chief architects of the modern surveillance state.
In Congress, he opposed every substantive effort to protect Americans’ privacy and worked hand in hand with the NSA, FBI, and intelligence agencies to bypass and erode the Fourth Amendment.
Flock cameras shouldn't be used to track law-abiding citizens. As a former FBI guy, I know security and liberty aren’t enemies. Good government protects both.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
- Rogers opposed ending bulk phone records collection
- lead sponsor of CISPA.
- helped author the Patriot Act

Dear humans around the world:
That thunderclap you just heard came from Gander, Newfoundland.
At 92 years old, Jean Chretien just gave the speech of his life.
With the most memorable, important words of his life.
Because he speaks for what most Canadians are feeling in our stomachs and hearts today, better than anyone else could.
God bless him. God bless Canada.

The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.

This is wild. Full VHS recording of Camper Van Beethoven at St Andrews hall in 1988. Not many videos of shows from those days. We seem to be on fire. Close the set with The Buzzcocks Harmony in my Head. youtu.be/380A7wJ224o?si=EQOA…

Basically, if Austin significantly upzones transit corridors, it can:
> Cut affordable unit costs by half
> Generate 50% or ALL of taxes for affordable housing from increased property values
> Lowers tax burden on owners
We can literally get free affordable housing by upzoning!
Upzoning two levels near Austin's planned light rail would cut affordable housing subsidy costs from $8B to $5.5B because more market-rate units in the same buildings would offset affordable-unit costs.

Michigan put America on wheels, but rising costs are making transportation unaffordable for our residents.
Now is the time to make serious investments in fast, reliable, and free public transit.

Probably the most important graph explaining California’s housing crisis.
Construction costs are up 53% since January 2019. Interest rates are up from 2.7% to 4.1%.
This is why a San Francisco report recently found that most housing projects are no longer feasible.
