New things are cookin'
We've been quiet. Here's why.
We're building a new vault: delta-hedged BTC weekly straddles.
Why it matters: most crypto returns depend on price going somewhere. This strategy earns from something else, which is the gap between the volatility options price in and the volatility BTC actually delivers. That means it can work in choppy, sideways markets where directional strategies struggle.
Vol selling is a staple on TradFi desks, but in crypto it has mostly stayed with traders who can run options books and rebalance hedges every week. We want to package it in a vault, with the hedge visible on-chain.
The honest part: it earns most weeks and loses when BTC moves hard.
Small pilot first. We'll post every Friday expiry, good weeks and bad.

Now I know why it’s called $LAPTOP
Another day, another MemeFi experiment on Robinhood: @receiptfamily $RECEIPT
Scan a receipt, get tokenized stock in the company you just bought from.
Buy an iPhone, get $AAPL. A Costco run pays you in $COST.
→ Camera only, no uploads, no screenshots
→ AI reads the merchant, matches it to the ticker
→ 3% back on the free tier, no token needed, $20 cap per receipt
→ hold 100k $RECEIPT and the cap lifts to $100
→ funded by trading fees on the token, buying real shares via a licensed issuer
Worth noting that the brands aren't involved, they don't fund it, and they don't know
but the idea underneath is really cool and interesting within the MemeFi narrative
Most people spend a lifetime funding companies they own none of. This turns a habit that already exists into ownership, no budgeting, no brokerage, no financial literacy course.
The free tier is the whole point, no minimum, no balance, 3% back. An on-ramp for people who will never buy a token on purpose.
Which can turn into another novel onboarding funnel for web3!
honest risk: the rewards are funded by speculation, so the cashback lasts exactly as long as the trading volume does. and delivery is still early.
But if it works, retailers build their own version, that's what the experimentation does. It invites people to think outside of the box!
Here's another recent experiment: Robinhood Hat Strategy @rstrosrs
Someone built a treasury where the reserve asset is a hat in RuneScape- yes, an in-game HAT
$RSTR on the Robinhood chain, paired against ETH.
→ every trade pays a 1% fee
→ 70% routes to the token creator
→ creator converts the ETH into OSRS gold
→ gold buys Robinhood hats
→ hats get held, never sold
trade the token, fund the hat buys, squeeze the in-game price, generate screenshots, drive more trading.
the leaks are obvious. hats still drop from clue scrolls, so supply keeps arriving, and the eth-to-gold hop needs a human.
The edge is REACH, look at who this reaches.
OSRS has millions of players who already understand order books, buy limits, thin float, and cornering a market; they've been running a live economy since they were twelve; they just never called it DEFI
This is one of the most interesting onboarding funnels I've seen. No airdrop farming, no points dashboard.
The pitch is "the thing you already trade is going up, here's why."
crypto keeps trying to onboard people by explaining wallets. Turns out you onboard them by showing up in the market they already play in.
That's the actual experiment.
And here's another experiment, this time the token is paired with a 3x short position of $PONS, which will use profitable exits from the positions to buy back $TAMPONS and burn it...
Gotta love STONKS meta, it sure as hell unlocks creativity in people!
New DEGEN skills unlocked...
I helped launched $TAMPONS on @Perpshood
Here is a TLDR
$TAMPONS is paired with a 3x short position on $PONS
every time people trade the ticker, a 1% fee is generated
part of those fees continuously gets routed into collateral backing the $PONS short
so more TAM volume = more capital feeding the short
the interesting part is what happens if $PONS starts bleeding
as the short becomes profitable, the system periodically realizes part of those profits
75% of the realized profit is then used to buy $TAMPONS off the market and burn it
so you basically get this loop:
$TAMPONS volume → fees → 3x PONS short → PONS goes down → short profits → buy $TAMPONS → burn $TAMPONS
and the perp doesn’t disappear when the token graduates either
liquidity can move from the bonding curve into a Uniswap V4 pool while the underlying short keeps running
Summary:
it’s a memecoin with a treasury that is structurally short PONS and uses profitable exits from that position to buy and burn its own supply
So
$TAMPONS gets stronger when $PONS bleeds.
Spent $200 on a meme coin solana:2pouN3by7twkiZGy5aEKYUpf78ALDpKRTNu2WsQkpkqt whose entire premise is a @Bittensor pun, purely as an experiment
And the experiment is going well.
→ $200 in
→ $523 position
→ $23 in $TAO already paid out
→ +171%, day one
The mechanic is genuinely clever. Pair your token to an asset people actually want, tax the churn, pay holders in the good asset, the joke funds the bag.
But here's the honest split: the tao rewards are ~6% of the gain. the other 94% is just the coin going up. that's not yield; that's beta wearing a costume.
I gotta say, being rewarded with one of the leading decentralized AI tokens for holding "BUTT" themed memecoin is delightfully paradoxical!
durable? no idea. launch day flatters every number and payouts live and die with the crowd, but that's the experiment.
Still, this is the part of crypto I love!
I've been researching nuclear energy for a while, looking for a way to get exposure. Then I saw $NUKE, and it got me thinking. So here's my thesis.
Fission is the future of energy. Fusion is the future after that.
People trade them as one thing. They're not. Fusion is a physics program. Fission microreactors are a licensing and logistics program. Different decades, different risks.
But they aren't unrelated. Every reactor licensed, every HALEU supply chain built, every regulator that learns to move faster on advanced designs, that's the industrial base fusion inherits. Fission is how the world relearns how to build nuclear at all.
$NUKE points at NNE: KRONOS, ZEUS, LOKI, fuel fabrication. Not fusion. But it's exposure to the buildout that makes fusion possible, and that's a more interesting place to sit than most things on a chain right now.
I'm long the thesis. Not financial advice.
Plenty of people are comparing @uponrh to @aeroxyz, and that makes sense. But looking at the growth trajectory, the mechanics, and the fact that RH is a new chain, I see closer parallels with @ShadowOnSonic, with one big difference: Sonic had to build its userbase from scratch. RH Chain already has one, plus distribution and product-market fit.
That's one hell of a combo!
Good to see @Wall3_RL land in the @virtuals_io ecosystem this month.
Not because it overlaps with what we build, it doesn't. They ship research. We ship execution. Different job entirely.
What caught my attention was how they showed up. A live track record going back to 2024, published net of fees, benchmarked against an index, with the sourcing and the caveats attached to the chart instead of buried.
In the fund world, that is unremarkable. It is the bare minimum before anyone takes a meeting. Onchain it is still rare enough to be worth pointing at.
Most of this sector has spent a year arguing about whose agent is smartest. The more useful argument is whose numbers are checkable, by whom, and how often. Every team that imports real reporting discipline into web3 makes that the standard a little faster.
We are building @maicrotrader on the same bet. Institutional rigor, self-custody, and performance you can verify without having to trust us.
More of this.

Good to see our own @TemoBz representing maicro at the Base Founder's Dinner!
At @CoinfestAsia, @donofbase and myself hosted an intimate @Base Founders' Dinner where we spoke about chain upgrades, B20 use cases, Base Batches 004, and all the support programs we're running here at @baseapac, before concluding with a live AMA for builders!
We appreciate every single builder who turned up and showed interest in building with us - we will do our best to support you every step of the way.
Incredible night at the Base Founders Dinner with @Nibel_eth and @donofbase, great insights on where Base is headed, got to talk about @maicrotrader with some sharp minds in the room. More fired up than ever to be building on @base🔵

Every serious quant desk versions its models. v1.0 gets superseded by v2.0, and the old model's record doesn't vanish, it becomes institutional memory.
Crypto trading products mostly don't do this. The old model just quietly disappears. We think that is a mistake, and we are going to show you why.
How many times @virtuals_io need to prove it's a go-to launchpad for utility? Launchpad mechanics are incredibly complicated and fragile, so when you bet on a "vibe-coded launchpad" built in a couple of days, don't be surprised when you get rekt!
Best time to build 🫡🫡🫡
The last few weeks have been heads down.
all hands on deck across 3 fronts:
→ major update to our market-neutral strategy, first full implementation of the multi-agent engine. tuning it to perform in any market condition, as it was intended
→ new options strategy in development
→ foundation work for the strategy builder
Bear markets are when real builders separate from the noise.
Less hype to chase, clearer road, and the tech has to stand on its own.
We've never been a narrative play: we build, we ship, we let the vault speak.
That doesn't change.
Base Weekly, my new weekly show covering the entire @base ecosystem, launches with Episode 1 next week.

Designing the Strategy Builder: configure, backtest, and deploy your own trading agents inside non-custodial vaults on Base. Four depth modes are planned. Which fits how you'd want to trade?
-> Templates: pick a pre-built strategy, review its track record, and deploy in one tap. No setup required.
-> Guided Builder: start from a template but adjust the parameters that matter to you (risk limits, allocation, rebalance triggers) through simple controls. No code.
-> Policy Rules: write your own conditional logic (if/then rules governing when and how the agent acts) for more precise control without writing a full strategy from scratch.
-> Full SDK: build your strategy agent in code from the ground up. For developers who want complete control over logic and execution.
Your vote shapes V1 priorities.
