On a day when tens of thousands of kids in North America get to be kids, children are being held hostage and being killed in Gaza. The UN workers helping kids are being killed too.
Canada and the world is failing our kids.

NEW - BC releases its own “missing middle” plan called “small-scale multi-unit”). Huge changes to local land-use rules, effective June 30, 2024. Allows 3-4 unit buildings on all single family lots in urban areas – 6 units near transit. Could create 130,000 new units over 10 years

This Bill would legalize secondary suites or laneway homes across B.C. and ensure we get more housing options in existing communities. 🙌🏾
Our Secondary Suite Incentive Program will provide forgivable loans to homeowners to build additional below-market rental suites. 🧵 [3/5] – at British Columbia, Canada

This legislation will allow as of right:
✅ 3 units on smaller lots. 👨👩👧👦
✅ 4 units on larger lots. 🏗️
✅ 6 units near bus stops with frequent service. 🚌🚏
Economists project this policy will lead to a net addition of 130,000 homes in B.C. over 10 years!

Yesterday, I heard from a number of people that they want more trick-or-treaters in their neighbourhoods. 🎃
Today, we tabled legislation that will do just that - create more homes within reach for young families by building more housing in existing communities. 🏡
