Great opportunity to visit Morehead State University Space Science Center. A beautiful state-of-the-art facility containing classrooms, laboratories, cleanrooms, and equipment for satellite environmental testing. The two-story, building encompasses 45,000 square feet of floor space and includes a control center for the 21-meter space antenna system. TSL’s cleanroom is located on the second floor of the building. What a great tour opportunity!

Student interns participating in NASA’s STEM Enhancement in Earth Science (SEES) program at the University of Texas Center for Space Research @UTCSR are working hard in the classroom preparing for their next mission. Another great day for the TASR Team! Prof. @BobTwiggs, Prof. Nick Pugh, @LauraTomlin6, and @melissapore at the University of Texas Center for Space Research @UTCSR. Second high-altitude balloon launch in two days at the SEES Summer Intern Program. Looking forward to student presentations and analysis of the data. Android phone connected to Yagi antenna used as a serial terminal for pinging the HAB for location. Also, the receiver was connected to a laptop for the cut down command. STEM learning can be so much FUN!

For his four decades of work, Bob Twiggs, of Hewitt, is being inducted into multiple hall of fames. Twiggs is known as the “father of the CubeSat” after inventing the technology for miniature satellites used for space research.
