Perla Muñoz Hopkins brings experience as a former Leander ISD teacher, U.S. Air Force veteran, parent of LISD graduates, band mom, and school volunteer. She holds three master's degrees in adult education, secondary teaching, and Spanish literature.
Perla taught K-12 in South Carolina and Department of Defense schools in Europe. Her background also includes teacher mentoring via MS State, curriculum development, library programs, military-family advocacy, school fundraising, and participation in state education-policy discussions.

I will continue fighting to keep kids safe. @jamestalarico has wreaked havoc long enough. Teacher to teacher, he’s received proof of the filth they’ve put in the hands of LISD students from me, and per 2022 TLO archives, Morath has responded to Talarico that inappropriate IMs and CRT practices are indeed in effect in TX Classrooms. WOW 🚨 American mother says this is the second time she caught people taking zoomed in pictures of her child at Disneyland
She approached both of them
“I approached this lady and I say, were you taking pictures of my daughter? And she's all flustered. She's like, no, no, no, no, no. I was just taking pictures of the character. The psychopath I am, I say can I see?
And so she goes into her photo album pretending like she doesn’t know how to work her phone whatsoever. Goes into her photo album. Sure enough, there are like 10 zoomed-in photos of just my daughter. Just my daughter. My daughter's face”
She also approached a second person taking pictures of her kid
“I see a grown older man zooming in — just her face and so I approach him — and I'm like, are you taking pictures of her? And he goes, no, no, no, no, no, just the character. And same exact situation. And I'm like, okay, can I see? And he goes, sure.
— He's flustered, goes into his phone. There's 15 photos of my child and my friend's child zoomed in on his phone — I'm now clocking this, like, okay, this is a thing — So I tell him to delete them”
“I don't even think this guy had a kid with him. So just thought parents out there should know this. Be heads up on who is taking photos of your kids”
“Disney should be very aware that there are people just taking photos of other people's kids. It's just weird”
What’s crazy is I looked it up and this is actually legal. People are allowed to take pictures of just your kids without your consent in public in California. Even at Disneyland
There needs to be protections against this, it’s extremely creepy and dangling
