Thus far, the going forecast is working out well. The bulk of the severe thunderstorms are remaining well to the west of the forecast area. Given the trends in the water vapor satellite, subsidence should continue to limit thunderstorm activity to just a few isolated thunderstorms. These isolated thunderstorms could touch severe levels but the majority will not. The thunderstorms will be capable of intense downpours though. Tonight, the cold front will reach the region with a line of strong to severe thunderstorms capable of intense downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.
