It gives me great pleasure to announce that I have passed my Ph.D examination with minor corrections at @UCT_news
I am grateful to my supervisors and the research team @Plants_PCU_UCT.
Looking forward to the next steps in my career as a Paleoecologist.

Hello, Glory. Apologies for your experience. December comes with increased cases of short landed baggage. The airline owes you a First Need compensation of 170 dollars while they search for, and reconcile you with your bag.
Kindly send me your mobile number and I will have our officers in Lagos reach out to resolve this issue.
Hi @flyethiopian I dare say you treat your Nigerian passengers with disrespect and contempt. It’s been one week since you left behind your Lagos bound passenger’s luggage in Addis and you have since refused to send it to their final destination.

Mind you, you offered no proper apologies or compensation. You simply stated you will make effort to get the delayed luggage to Lagos. However the customer is not Lagos based and had to continue on their journey. The luggage contained perishables which have long gone bad
Passenger continued their already planned journey to Calabar and have called and sent emails, asking that you forward the bag to their final destination. Your published emails and phone numbers do not work. No responses have been received till date @flyethiopian @mikeachimugu01
Hi @MTNNG is there a reason why I’ve subscribed for data twice in the last 24 hours and it’s still not reflecting in my balance? Is this normal behaviour?

It saddens me to see the PAGES Mobility Fellowships come to an end, as it's a prestigious and potentially life-changing opportunity. @PAGES_IPO has consistently demonstrated its commitment to nurturing the next generation of paleoscience researchers.
As a 2025 fellowship recipient, I'm urging you to seize this final chance (application deadline: August 15, 2025). This fellowship can enhance your CV, foster valuable networks, and equip you with essential skills.

The nonchalance at your Calabar-Marian office is totally nauseating and needs to be checked. Customers shouldn’t wait 1.5 -4 hours to pick up parcels, or deal with rude, careless or unserious staff who zero empathy. Rating of experience 0.05 star!

Ok, some of us took our formal writing classes too seriously. Now we have to deal with our essays being flagged as AI generated!
Simply unacceptable!
How to figure out if a text is AI-generated without using any apps
and
How to ensure an AI-generated text doesn't get flagged
1. Words:
By now, everyone knows that ChatGPT overuses words like delve, intricate, realm, and tapestry. If these words appear frequently in a text, chances are it's AI-generated.
2. Sentence Structure:
For some reason, AI overuses participial phrases, especially present participial phrases.
[Quick grammar lesson
A participle is a word formed using a verb (cry, burn), but used as an adjective (crying baby, burning wood).
A participial phrase is a group of words that modify a noun. These phrases provide extra information about a noun.
Example:
He sat by the fire, looking out the window.
She entered the room, smiling brightly.
Here the part of the sentence after the comma is a participial phrase.
AI uses present participial phrases quite frequently. These phrases start with a word that ends with -ing, like "looking" and "smiling" in the examples above.]
AI-generated texts will have several sentences containing present participial phrases (sometimes one in each paragraph).
3. Perfect Structure
AI-generated texts will have a perfect structure: a perfectly written introduction and a perfectly written conclusion with clear rhetorical signposts like "In conclusion" etc.
Every paragraph will have a perfect topic sentence. Between paragraphs, you will see, perfect transition sentences.
It's not that a human can't produce a perfectly structured piece of writing. It's just that it takes several drafts to polish the structure. If a student turns in a pefectly structured piece of writing in a short span of time, chances are the text is AI-generated.
4. Perfect Punctuation
AI-generated texts will have perfect punctuation and a bunch of em dashes (—) thrown in.
None of these features alone mean that a text is AI-generated. For example, if a text contains several em dashes, it doesn't automatically mean it's AI-generated.
But if a text contains pefectly structured paragraphs with sentence containing words like delve/intricate with participial phrases, chances are it's AI-generated.
If you use ChatGPT, you can customize it, so it doesn't use words like delve/intricate and avoids overusing participial phrases. You can also ask it not to write pefect topic/transition sentences and muddle up the punctuation. Always reword/rephrase whatever text AI gives you.
If you're a student who want to use AI to avoid learning how to write, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. Writing helps you clarify your thought processes and articulate your ideas precisely. You want to be able to do that.

Pls, go for BIG opportunities.
People with less skill, less drive, but more audacity are collecting the WINS.
Let them tell you No. But don’t ever tell yourself NO before they even get the chance.
While reminiscing on my 2025 journey thus far, it almost felt like I hadn’t achieved anything. You see, at the start of the year I made a detailed plan of what milestones I needed to meet per month, and for each quarter of the year. But life happens, and sometimes we veer off a
Little. However on deeper introspection, I realised I have already ticked off quite a number of really significant goals on my to do list! Things I am super proud of, and which I didn’t even think I could pull off at the time. Why then did I have the nagging feeling of failure..
