Sony’s communication about this entire issue (both interior and exterior) has such an oddly defensive and confrontational tone that’s rare to see from a company at their scale. They’re acting like they’re in a Kitchen Nightmares episode.
Sony says "reasonable consumers" know they don’t own the digital PlayStation games they buy.
It argues that it's "not plausible" to suggest that when they buy a digital game they actually believe they're "obtaining ownership" of it.

The amount of inane defenses and appeals to authority I've seen over a Pokémon save editor is fucking absurd.
They've had a decade to come up with a simple offline transfer solution to HOME. Even a single USB peripheral would make millions.

Unfortunately Sony can't copy this because this was the old Xbox One DRM and Xbox One (and Xbox Series) discs include the unique ID needed to link a disc to an account. Since Sony famously used that DRM and anger over it to their advantage, PS4 and PS5 discs aren't produced with the same unique IDs.

Yeah this totally sucks. They will eventually try to blame this decision on the handheld, but the reality is, they want you spending more money on games, with less consumer choice.

Gunna be real, the hate for Legends ZA is wild and I think people just like to hear themselves complain.
The game is solid, runs smooth, the mega fights are fun and engaging, the city concept is better than I thought and the formula change up is a win.
It’s not a perfect game but it’s been enjoyable. It’s so sad that negativity is what generates engagement / interest / clicks etc.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A's Lumiose City may not be visually exciting, but exciting Pokemon encounters, well-written characters, and amusing side quests still make it fun to explore.
