Evening all. Here’s a new photo restoration and colourisation from #DoctorWho and the Massacre (of St Bartholomew’s Eve, if you must). David Weston as Nicholas and Peter Purves as Steven outside Charles Preslin’s apothecary - sorry, apotheKary, according to the sign painter - in Riverside Studio 1 on Friday 28th January 1966 during camera rehearsals for Episode 2, ‘The Sea Beggar’.

Due to such high demand, the BBC have announced an additional date for this #DoctorWho screening, taking place on Saturday 28th November. Cineworld will also host an evening 4DX screening on Monday 23 November and Saturday 28 November at all 34 of its UK cinemas.

I do wonder when all 26 Classic seasons will be complete. At a rate of one set a year, the range would finish in 2033. And that’s not taking into account any potential upcoming animations or episode recoveries. It will almost be as long as the DVD range.

Looks like no The Collection announcement this week meaning we have to beat the record for the shortest time between announcement and release. I think it’s looking unlikely we will be getting another set this year.

The shortest time between a Collection box set announcement and release is 74 days for S17. Announced 7th October 2021 released, 20th December. If a set is not announced by next week, then the 74 day record will have to be broken if we are to see another set this year.
