And once again it’s possible that she knows how to whisk eggs like a normal person but chose to do this knowing how Billy would react thus consciously presenting him as a controlling and domineering partner which is precisely the narrative that helps her

Shane Gillis and Danny McBride play feuding weathermen in a new four-minute Kalshi ad.
“In the past year I’ve made some questionable trades on contracts for local weather, Costco hot dog prices and cricket,” McBride said in a statement. “Working with Kalshi to make this very unique ad was a great way to both make amends on some of my questionable predictions, but also get to work with Shane, and reunite with my good pal, Deep Roy.”

Amanda Seyfried feeling immediately like the sidekick character in a Benoit Blanc movie

I don’t really care if Elizabeth Holmes felt sad when she saw Amanda Seyfried’s portrayal of her
I think Nathan Fielder did a really good job with You Can See Everything. Especially in showing how unwilling Amanda Seyfried was to acknowledge her own role in potentially harming another person. He had everyone looking at one another and questioning everyone else’s intentions, while seemingly being completely unwilling to examine their own behavior. I thought Amanda’s resistance to doing that was especially revealing
I also obviously think Billy is terrible. I think he’s cruel and exploitative. I’ve seen Elizabeth’s tweets for years and thought they were her. Finding out they’re his was jarring and sad.
But as much as I dislike Billy, I think he made a very good point. Why would he care what Amanda thinks? She’s an actress who has profited from portraying his wife as a bizarre and dishonest and manipulative freak to an audience that is largely voyeuristic, incredibly binary in their moral thinking, and seemingly unable to separate fiction from reality
I don’t think that Amanda needed to defend Elizabeth or excuse anything she’s done but I do think it’s bizarre how unwilling she seemed to consider that she might have contributed to another person’s suffering

i felt that elizabeths father and the guy talking about the new theranos tech seemed to be the only ones in the whole film not putting on some kind of facade, and interestingly are both people billy tried to stop nathan from interviewing

the introduction of nathan in this movie is a shot of his silhouette through a window looking into elizabeth holmes home. he understands his own presentation of himself comes off as an awkward guy and he leans into it often. its funny on purpose!

Straight up it is astounding how effective “hey don’t say that shit no more” is. You’re not gonna change minds but you will get people to stop saying slurs. Works particularly in public.

It’s really funny that this is supposed to be a man who just walked out of the mid 20th Century. Okay yeah, they had long hair and beards in the 60s but no one with that hair in the 60s would wear a black bomber jacket over a black tshirt. What is any of this?

Saw that #Clayface is on track to score $25M this weekend off a $40M budget and I thought, "Oh, so like a standard event movie back in the day, it'll recoup its budget over the next couple of weeks and be considered a success." But no, bean counting has taught everyone that <$1B at the box office means it wasn't worth the effort. You're all children.

The superhero bubble is burst. You can’t make a “Captain America” film for $180m, a “Fantastic Four” movie for $230m, or a team-up movie for $180m and count on them being a hit anymore.
Can you make a $30m IP-tethered horror movie and make money on superheroes that way?

the reason moby-dick remains such a vital piece of human art is that it addresses what is probably one of humanity's greatest collective atrocities, the genocide of the whales, with an ambivalence it cannot itself fully articulate. melville is distraught, but he can't explain why

Jokes aside, it's actually insane how normalized alcohol is. Straight up poison in a bottle, more harmful than a lot of illegal substances, but so widely available with close to no limits for how much you can legally purchase and consume as an adult. I think I’m done this time.

warner bros deserved to be eaten by paramount after that nemesis system patent
Red Dead Redemption 2 just got a new mod titled "enRAGE" that adds a fully functional nemesis system into the game.
This makes every single NPC have a name, traits, quirks, a trade, a faith, a family and a life story. So people you meet turn up again in the same towns with the same face and the same grudges as it adds a full memory system.
The map is now populated with 8 factions that are constantly at war with each other, having their own hierarchy and captains that you or their enemies can take out. Every single encounter is remembered, including exactly where you wounded them in the case that they survive the fight. This means that RDR2 now has a fully functional faction war that goes on all the time with this mod and factions will remember your actions against them. There is a ton of new dialogue and you can even interrogate NPCs now to get additional information on their friends and allies.
This is an extremely impressive mod and it's now available in early access to download for anyone who has RDR2 on PC.
