I’ve been researching Danny Tommo. He’s essentially a far right Frank Spencer.
One of his plans to combat the small boats crisis was by grifting to buy… a small boat. Which sank. Then while begging for money to recover it, he doxxed himself. That’s just one farcical example.

Patriot Platform, the far-right group whose black-clad masked members caused hours of disruption in Dover yesterday, calls itself a Christian “army of patriots” dedicated to protecting women and children.
There’s a problem with that story.
Its supposedly “handpicked” and “vetted” members include men with violent criminal records, including convictions involving violence against women and violent disorder.
And its founder, Danny Tommo, Tommy Robinson’s right-hand man, spent time in prison for his part in a botched kidnapping attempt over a drug dispute.

Channel 4, I hear, have done an interesting sting operation on Reform, employing an actor pretending to be son of a wealthy hedge-fund owner, seeking to make donations. I presume C4 will broadcast results this week to coincide with Reform conference.

Some slight issues, in fact, some major ones:
- Union Flag: Already flown daily from council buildings before Reform UK took control. Not a new achievement.
- Council finances: Major capital and financial reviews were already planned or underway before Reform UK took control.
- Sugden End HWRC: Reopening has not been delivered. It remains a proposal awaiting formal approval.
- Grooming gangs inquiry: Bradford had already committed to participating. The independent inquiry does not say Reform UK “secured” Bradford’s inclusion.
- Devolving power locally: Vague. No specific transfer of powers, functions or budgets is identified.
- Bingley Pool: The campaign long predates Reform UK and involved residents, community groups and councillors across parties. The pause was not solely a Reform UK initiative.
- Wind farm: Opposing a proposed wind farm is a political position, not a delivered achievement.
- City-centre ASB: Action and funding to tackle ASB were already underway, including £450,000 for a City Centre Team approved before Reform UK took control.
- Homelessness: Rough-sleeping and homelessness programmes, funding and new accommodation initiatives were already underway before Reform UK took control.
- Local Plan: Inherited. The timetable was adopted in 2025 and the council had already committed to progressing it in January 2026.
- £3.1m potholes: The £3.19m was Bradford’s allocation from a wider West Yorkshire highways package originating from Department for Transport funding, not money Reform UK independently “secured”.
- Bradford Business Conference: An announced conference may be a new initiative, but announcing an event “to attract investment” is not the same as actually attracting new investment.
