Yesterday in Oleh, Isoko political class & traditional rulers from the 19 Isoko Kingdoms converged. However, the gathering fell short of effectively communicating the most pressing challenges facing the Isoko Nation to the Governor, notably:

2027 politics will come and go but light and roads remain. We need the govt to put a clear timelines.
Isoko generates enough wealth for the country.
We cannot keep quiet. We are not asking for flyovers but motorable roads.
History will remember what we did at this moment.

Dear Governor, we hope you saw this ISOKO NEED LIGHT part of the warm reception at the Isoko House Oleh.
Today, the Isoko nation hosted my wife and I to a warm reception at Isoko House, Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area.
At the ceremony, the Isoko ethnic nationality endorsed Mr. President, HE Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and myself as their sole candidates for the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
I am grateful for the endorsement of Mr. President, assuring the Isoko nation of our commitment of bringing dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of our people.
I thanked our traditional rulers, fathers of faith, illustrious sons and daughters of Isoko nation for the warm reception. God bless the Isoko ethnic nationality for the show of love.
That's why some of us feel there's a deliberate move by some powers to deprive the Isoko Nation of electricity. After this protest in June, light improved for few days.
It only means there's nothing wrong with the feeder lines.
Meanwhile, the IDU is busy welcoming "in-law."
Right now in Isoko, everyone is talking about buying solar panels because we've all given up on BEDC ever showing up or that Ozoro 3.5KVA Substation ever seeing light.
But guess what the umbrella body of the Isoko nation, IDU, is focused on?
2027 politics.
We are not serious.
I don't even know what his intentions were, he visited the Osikwenike community of Okugbe-Isoko kingdom in Bayelsa State and started fishing for an Igbo connection. He left with his tail between his legs when he couldn't understand the Isoko they spoke there.
The disrespect.
Every year they do this, one of them went to Osikwenike Okugbe Isoko some time back and was beaten.
MOST pidgin is in the Delta/Edo/Rivers language belt. Yoruba in Pidgin is easy to understand, there's Lagos pop culture influence.
Kalabari? but at least it's Ijaw.
But that Efik you added? That's sentiment. You must be from there.
Replying to @AfroVII
Most pidgin is either Yoruba, Efik or Kalabari. That's where english and local languages mixed up. This one sounds Efik.
Isoko, let's be honest.
Election is coming. 5 positions, 5 votes.
President
Governor
Senate
Reps
Assembly
Are we voting 5/5 for party or are we voting for the person who will actually deliver for Isoko?
What do you think is the way forward?

What needs to happen now:
- @DSGovernment declare emergency in Uzere
- Force the operators - Heritage Energy and NEPL - to take responsibility. Right now both are reluctant because they claim no functional facility within 300m.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, through the member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, inspected the gas-emitting sites in Uzere, Isoko South Local Government Area, on October 27, following reports of dangerous gas emissions in residential areas and farmlands.
During the on-the-spot assessment, Hon. Ukodhiko expressed concern over the potential environmental and public health consequences of the incident and disclosed that he had discussed the situation with Governor Oborevwori. Residents living close to the affected areas have been relocated to safer locations as a precautionary measure, while the cause of the emissions remains to be established.
The lawmaker pledged to work with relevant authorities, the Federal Government and the National Assembly to secure urgent intervention, contain the emissions and address the environmental impact. He also assured residents that remedial work would be pursued as conditions permit, while calling for urgent action to safeguard lives and livelihoods in the affected community.
Don't know your culture, but in Isoko tradition and most parts of Southern Nigeria, a wife has little say in how her husband is buried.
The family decides 99% of the time, they may only let you contribute out of respect for your grief.

An uncontrolled gas release from Heritage Energy’s Well-14 has continued leaving residents of Uzere in Isoko South Delta State concerned about the impact on their lives. @RtHonSheriff

If you know you know!
Each resident gets ₦266k.
Rather build 4 mini industrial hubs with the same ₦4bn, cassava in Emede, palm oil in Sapele, fish cold-chain in Burutu, rice mill in Ndokwa you create 1,200 direct jobs and 4,000 suppliers.
Let's stop sharing poverty and start building production.
