Cars are not an "investment". It is a deprecating asset. The "investment" was due to a stupid protectionist regime, which caused massive welfare loss for consumers as legacy automakers produced shirty cars that they cant even sell in their own domestic market.
Competition is great. The consumer gets more options, at a lower price as there is more competition. Legacy automakers can compete, but they may rather cry like perpetual infants they are
