Yet another case management system? Nope, we had something else in mind. Tracking individual cases is useful. Seeing what they tell you together opens up a different set of opportunities: 1/n courtsdaily.info/founding50 @bhargavizaveri @thriddas

We’re inviting 50 practitioners, academics and firms to help shape Courtfolio. The exchange: add at least 25 cases to Courtfolio, use the product and share candid feedback. You’ll unlock free Courtfolio access until 30 June 2027, setup support and a direct line to our team. No requests for promotional posts or testimonials. We want to know what makes it useful—and what needs fixing.

From the appointment of Election Commissioners to the deletion of voters from electoral rolls, critical constitutional questions remain unresolved. Our latest #CountingOnLaw column by @GokulSunoj @BhavyaSudhir42 and @SonOfRajkumar in @ThePrintIndia uses six years of Supreme Court cases to reveal a pattern of judicial deference, evasion and delays that often outlast the elections themselves. Watch @GokulSunoj explain their findings in 5 minutes. 👇 youtu.be/VhzweUkmD-0?si=380h…

Reading the SC's judgement in Yes Bank's AT1 bonds case. Really well written. 35 pages, issues clearly laid out, no unnecessary digression into why Banking Regulation Act exists, banking history, etc. Kudos! Check out this link for the judgement, a graphical timeline of the case, chat with it, etc. here: courtsdaily.info/case/356916… And here's a scathing paragraph that sums it all up.

Following the protest matters and Rahul Gandhi’s case against the ECI in the Supreme Court? Here’s everything in one place, including the ability to simply chat with the case instead of wading through long SC orders with an endless list of lawyers' names, see bench changes as the case progresses, navigate to tagged matters, set up alerts for new orders, generate reports, etc. Your One Place for Every Case: courtsdaily.info/case/506977… courtsdaily.info/case/530741…

+cases where the contemnor complied with the order or the cases were dismissed or withdrawn. @nipun_saxena details how contempt petitions are usually filed by those parties which seek a quicker, effective execution of the order.

3 senior officials gave their apologies to #SupremeCourt in the contempt case relating to #DelhiProtests. But how often does the SC convict one of civil contempt for willful disobedience of orders? Records show punishment has been rare: less than 1% of cases end in jail/fine.

@theprofesseer's data shows about 50% of the cases are just ‘disposed of’, another 31% dismissed and than 0.1 % allowed. In 0.2% cases, the contemnor is held guilty but no jail sentence given. 1.5% of cases were closed as the court accepted an apology, while 98% of cases are +

When @bhargavizaveri and I started @theprofesseer, we had a bold thesis. Data has revolutionized every field, what makes the law so special. The idea was that citizens, lawyers, firms, court administrators, researchers etc would all benefit from this. Feels really good to see journalists make good use of our data!

The Supreme Court is the last check on the Election Commission's actions. Our data shows a pattern of deference, delay and remedies that barely scratch the surface. In our fortnightly #CountingOnLaw column for @ThePrintIndia, @GokulSunoj, @SonOfRajkumar and @BhavyaSudhir42 write their findings from surveying the outcomes and timelines of 44 Supreme Court cases involving the Election Commissions' actions. theprint.in/opinion/counting…
