Right, so my inbox has been blown off itss hinges with people messaging/posting about @ember_paradox .
Upon review, I say, sometimes fate twists and turns in strange ways.
To prove that, I'm posting this. I made this comic manually, about a month after Ember pulled me back from the brink of google deleting my very existence.
I shelved it, as I was never satisfied with the quality. Even now, you can see the rough edges. Incorrectly sized windows, images overlapping borders, incomplete text and backgrounds.
But rather than polish this up, I'm posting this as-is, as proof of it's age. The keen eyed among you will even be able to pick out the details that shows the artwork comes from an old version of grok.
How could I know this? Well, I actually read Resurgence, hardly a difficult deduction to make.
Even in it's incomplete state, however, it covers my thoughts on the matter.
I'm not one to plant my feet and blindly defend anyone. And should any of my colleagues do anything heinous, I will gladly call them out on it. And, if necessary, cut ties.
But this? No.
You could say I knew. Or at least, very, very heavily suspected. Even so, I shelved the comic, not a friend. This was going to be the crux of the story and the ending of the ~5th page. But since I never made it that far into the comic, I'll put that ending here instead.
Ember Paradox remains my friend.
In light of certain circumstances, I have made peace with this choice. I don't toss aside followers for trying to be anonymous about their lives outside social media. If that rankles you? feel free to block. feel free to unfollow. feel free to hate. Don't care.

I do not care what happens to whores after they lose their money making capabilities, within the terms of being a whore. That is in part of my overall point.
As for the idea that it will increase the amount of whores, of course it will. Being a whore is currently illegal. You go to jail for selling your body. You have effectively told me that water is wet. What you are looking beyond however, is that it will overnight crash both the pornographic and 'creator' spaces whores currently inhabit. This is a universal good, no two ways about it.
As for transferable skills, I disagree. The industry will need: madames, caretakers, makeup experts, clothing experts, etc. etc. etc. . A woman grown out of the industry could likely find herself working alongside whores her entire life. I am not saying this is a bad thing, nor that it is likely even true, but that a legitimate industry of whores would require these accompanying professions. In truth, I do not give a flying fuck about transferable skills. It is a career, and life choice, of the woman making it. What comes of that is their own field being reaped.
As for medical concerns, I said that things would require audits. This is included. If someone gets salmonella from a resteraunt, it is shut down. Let's not act like we don't already have equivalent industry standards. If you are worried about people giving the whores diseases, then I propose that you must have a valid STD test sheet taken within the same week/2 weeks before you attend a whorehouse.
Trafficking, again, it must be audited with state oversight. In a legalized industry, yes it would occur. The part you're missing, again, is that we would have the legal paper trails to both catch and prevent it. Right now, it is happening at massive scale, even in first world countries. Want to know why it is an epidemic? None of it is fucking documented. A legalized whore industry would naturally require women participating to name themselves, and all the other mundanities that come from being employed. This, funnily enough, includes federal protections. OSHA, state law for workers' safety, etc. etc. etc.
The legalization of Marijuana lead to more Marijuana usage.
Legalized prostitution also doesn't fix several of the major problems of prostitution.
1. It's a young woman's game. A prostitutes ability to earn is subject to sharp drop off as they get older, making it a difficult life path unless they have the foresight to invest their early earnings. The gilf marker is vanishingly small.
2. No transferable skills. Compounding the first issue, there isn't a field where old and busted prostitutes can use their skills (except porn but again, gilf market). It'd an employment gap.
3. Health and safety risks. Sure, a legalized program would take steps to avoid diseased whores from working. But bills don't go away just because you've caught the clap, and there are going to be people who skirt the law to fuck while they're sick, and we know it because they skirt the law to be whores now.
4. Trafficking risks. Because of point one, there's a constant whore treadmill. Wherever there is a market for prostitution, there's a market to traffic young girls. And if you increase the market through legalization of prostitution, that creates a greater incentive to groom young women just getting out of high school to become prostitutes.
Honestly, I used to be on the position of decriminalization generally, but I've come around on it. You don't get less of a thing by making it legal.
