🧵 It's been one month since I lost sweet little Benz. I'd like to share some pictures of him. He was a precious, loving, gentle little guy who will never be forgotten. Beamer and I still miss him terribly.

I walked into a bakery today, masked, & the woman behind the counter said, "Are you infectious? I don't want to get infected!" I said, "Then you should wear a mask." She gave me the stink eye. The ignorance is just ... 🤪

Rest in peace, Sir Patrick Stewart, who passed away today at the age of 86. Perhaps best known for his iconic role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Stewart spent the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown sharing videos of himself reading Shakespeare’s sonnets. Notably, he was once joined by his neighbor’s cat Glenn who appeared unimpressed by Sonnet 40. #cat #catlovers #RIP

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

Geordi La Forge actor LeVar Burton pays tribute to his “Star Trek” co-star Patrick Stewart: “He was family. There is no other context in which to hold him that makes sense. I am lucky to have known and loved so many of the facets of a soul so rich in talent and generous of heart. Of all the Dames and Knights I’ve known he was deep down-the silliest.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/wil…

We are heartbroken by the passing of our longtime friend Sir Patrick Stewart. 🧡 A passionate advocate for pit bulls, Patrick used his voice to challenge stereotypes and protect animals from cruelty. We are forever grateful for his compassion and friendship.

We lost one of the greats of stage and screen today. And, in my book, a tremendous friend and man. I learned so much from him. I will miss you, Patrick Stewart, all of my days. @mang0ld

“I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived.” - Captain Jean-Luc Picard, USS Enterprise NCC1701-D

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

I'm sad to report the passing of Patrick Stewart, who famously played Captain Jean Luc Picard in Star Trek the next generation and Professor Xavier in the Fox and Marvel comic book movies. He was 86 years old and was battling Alzheimer's disease and lewy body dementia. This loss really hurts. Condolences to his wife, family and friends. Someone please check on Sir Ian McKellan. He is gonna be so heart broken.

My friend Timo and I were just watching #StarTrekTNG's "Lessons" half an hour ago. I cannot comprehend that Patrick Stewart has passed. This will take some time. I will forever miss him!

We're doing pre-1840s infection control, still in 2026. We have a CDC and a Secretary of Health and Human Services actively contributing to stigmatizing the ONLY infection control vulnerable, disabled, and chronically ill people have any control over - PPE.

How many times have doctors told their patients regardless of health status to just go out & live their lives without using airborne precautions if they don't wanna? F**k that nonsense.
