Aston Villa held an important working meeting today to plan the club's future and lay the foundations for its long-term sporting and institutional project. The meeting brought together Nassef Sawiris, the club's Chairman and Unai Emery alongside President of Football Operations Roberto Olabe and Director of Football Operations Damián Vidagany. The discussions focused on jointly planning the club's long-term strategic direction, with positive discussions establishing a clear commitment beyond 2029 for the joint development of the club under the sporting leadership of Unai Emery based on the shared ambitions and common goal to reach excellency and keep growing during the next years. The objective is clear: to build an ambitious, competitive Aston Villa capable of taking on the biggest challenges and achievements.

My initial thoughts about Aston Villa taking legal action against Jamie Carragher are that I don’t feel comfortable with it. I appreciate our club owners standing up for our football club and its supporters, but I can’t help feeling that going to court isn’t the right path to take. We are Aston Villa. We will never be kept down, especially not by someone’s opinion. The best way of proving the naysayers wrong is by doing it on the pitch. I was just about to go to sleep when this news broke, so I’m going to give it some more thought before explaining in a little more detail why I’m not sure we’re doing the right thing by taking legal action. Aston Villa will initiate legal action against Jamie Carragher for his unacceptable insults about the Club and its fans. Aston Villa will not allow anyone to stop our ascension in English and European football. Nassef Sawiris, Chairman

If the Villa hierarchy are watching and listening to what is being said about our manager, a new and improved contract (lots of money) for Emery would shut up a lot of the speculation of him leaving. Just do it. It will also show the pundits that we ain’t going anywhere; in fact, we want it all. The League title, all the domestic cups, Champions League cup, every dam thing. Why would any Villa want anything less? We’ve waited for this. This is our chance; the investment is there, the venue, the history, the fans. Emery is the man to take us there. He’s pivotal to our success. He’s our ace in the hole. When people say we can’t win this competition or that cup, and players and managers must leave our club, you must remember they’ve been indoctrinated against Villa for years; they’re in some sort of psychosis, and they don’t even know it. I remember standing in the Holt End over season and watching us become division one champions. I remember when we won the European Cup, the hard way, with a manager that delivered our dreams, Ron Saunders. It’s happened before; it can happen again. I truly believe that. UTV

You can sense the fear from the Sky6 fans and the bias media. They are worried about Villa now. From promoted to overtaking United and Spurs. Now competing with Chelsea and Liverpool and regularly beating City and Arsenal. They absolutely hate it.

Unfortunately Jamie Carragher is talking through his backside, but he’s not the only one. The thought of Villa never becoming a successful football club was formed a long time ago in the minds of past and present players, pundits and fans, and I’m talking about people predominantly from Britain. It’s a snobbery they developed through indoctrination from the sports media and where Villa resides, Birmingham B6 #AVFC
Could Unai Emery be the answer to Manchester United’s struggles? Jamie Carragher believes he’s the best manager in the Premier League! 💪

I wouldn’t go as far as saying Carrick would relegate us, but the rest of your point is spot on
You’re watching Aston Villa under Unai Emery and you want to tell me you need world class or top quality players before you can win instead of good coaching. Give Michael Carrick this same Aston Villa team and he’ll end up in relegation. Look at how solid Manchester United reject Lindelof is now for Villa

I’ve read a few replies from Villa fans about Simon Jordan’s comments in his interview with Guillem Balague. Some think he’ll lose a lot of goodwill from the Villa faithful for speaking his mind, and that’s fine. But there are two things I disagree with him on. Emery doesn’t have to leave Villa to create success and lasting memories. Look at Brian Clough and what he achieved at Nottingham Forest. Two European Cups. Clough will forever be remembered as a legend of English football. You don’t have to manage one of the biggest clubs to build a legacy. Yes, Emery will attract attention from Manchester United. He’s one of the best managers in the world. But he’s managed big clubs before, surprisingly leaving PSG with a year left on his contract and being sacked by Arsenal. What makes anyone think United wouldn’t wield the axe if results turned sour while he was rebuilding the club? The fans and press wouldn’t give him unlimited time. Villa might not be generating £700m a year like United and Arsenal yet, but spending big doesn’t guarantee success. Just ask Tottenham! The reality is that we’re always at risk of losing our best players, as we’ve seen before, and we could be at risk of losing our best managers too. That’s what its always been like here at Villa. But here’s my point, Emery, like Clough at Forest, can build something special here at Villa, he already has. He has the authority to shape the club around his own ideas, he already does. Would he get that same freedom at Manchester United? No way. If was Emery, I’d think very carefully about a move to Manchester United if they were ever to make an approach for him. It will end bad for him. Oh and BTW. I still like Simon Jordan. UTV
