Note how many of these are about creative reuse of space! I just got a studio spot in otherwise-unused office space via @LocalColorSJ and show art at @KaleidGallery — both forces for good, making good use of what’s around downtown San José.

Thanks to Erin Salazar's vision for an engaging city core, there's a mural on nearly every block in downtown #SanJose. As one of 7 Knight Public Spaces Fellows, she'll dedicate her work to creating even more engaging community hubs. More: kf.org/2Xeyela @LocalColorSJ
Yes!! We couldn't agree more!
Be authentic.
Build trust.
Go to where people are at.
Decisions should come from the community.
Things should happen with the community, not to them.
Equity and inclusion by all means necessary.
Community leaders should be valued and compensated.
