Thomas Cook

Sad to announce that my position as Sports Director at FOX 17 has been eliminated. Over the last year and a half, it has been a dream come true to cover the teams I grew up watching. I will be staying at the station in a different role temporarily while I explore my next opportunity. Excited for what’s ahead!

INTERVIEW: Tigers spring training is underway. We talked with the voice of the @wmwhitecaps @ThatDanHasty about a number of things. •Jace Jung at third base for the Tigers •Thayron Liranzo getting an invite to big league and camp •Max Clark and Kevin McGonigle's development

Tom Izzo spoke about the Spartan's tough schedule to end the season. Michigan State has five games left in the regular season, four are against ranked teams. "We just have to take care of our business," Izzo said.

Dan Campbell on the Lions mindset heading into the 49ers. “We’re bringing everything that we have to this game, and we are playing, and I don’t care what it looks like, and where it’s at or who’s this, who’s that, we’re going out to play and win this game out on the west coast.”

The Lions and Rams meeting again at Ford Field. It was another physical, grind-it-out game. Detroit made enough plays to get to overtime and then didn't let the Rams touch the ball and start the season with a win.

INTERVIEW: Derek Jeter is back home serving as Michigan's honorary captain today. "It's always great to be back, especially for a game like this," he said. The Hall of Famer continues to give back to West Michigan and the Kalamazoo area.

The heartbreaking end to one of the best Lions seasons in franchise history. So much will be made of the 4th down decisions but the Lions had opportunities to make plays and didn't. Wrapping up our @FOX17 coverage from Santa Clara.
