The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors filed a Rule 60b Motion in federal court, to end the 12 years of federal oversight of the Sheriff’s Office. This is the most significant event in my chairmanship. This is a historic moment for Maricopa County. In this video, I outline why

.@azjustinheap disenfranchising dozens of American citizens at election time sums up his brief yet disastrous tenure at @RecordersOffice Add to that the USPS nonsense and the wrong Election Day given by his office. And these are just the debacles we know about.

MANDAMUS ACTION filed by AG Mayes: "The AGO and MCAO investigations of the Affected Voters demonstrated conclusively" that the voters still designated as “Not Eligible” are U.S. citizens, meaning that Recorder Heap has not confirmed that these voters are not U.S. citizens.

MANDAMUS ACTION: In addition to a writ of mandamus, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes (both Democrats) ask the court for an injunction barring Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap from preventing the Affected Votes from casting a ballot that will be counted.

NEW: Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes just filed a mandamus action, asking a judge to force Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap to carry out his "nondiscretionary duty to immediately restore the" voting rights of 23 people his office previously alleged were noncitizens.
UPDATE: Arizona Attorney General @AZAGMayes tells Maricopa County Recorder @RecordersOffice she is prepared to sue if his office does not reinstate voting rights to 24 Arizonans who were allegedly noncitizens—but were confirmed to be citizens by @Rachel1Mitchell. Expect action this week.

The STAR Call Center (602-506-1511) is operated by the County Treasurer, Assessor, and Recorder, with the Recorder's Office responsible for all election-related calls. @RecordersOffice fixed the issue w/ this hotline when it was brought to their attention Tuesday. Per a signed agreement, in effect since 1995, the Board of Supervisors does not have oversight of the call center.
Even without witnessing, it sounds like a call into the Maricopa County Elections Dept—not the Maricopa County Recorder's Office. Listen to the automated menu & notice how the passage cited in Brahm's post is only played in the Elections Dept menu—not the Recorder's Office menu.

Justin Heap’s obsession in serving his master Shelby Busch indicates a lack of organizational control. It’s the little things. Accurate voicemail greetings may not seem as fun as calling the FBI on innocent elections employees, but serving the voters is more important.
PSA: Maricopa County Recorder phone line provides incorrect election date. Correct date is Nov. 3.

Meanwhile, the national populist aligned county recorder continues to make little errors that add up.
“It wasn’t clear why the recorder's phone line listed the wrong date. Heap's office did not respond to a voicemail or emails requesting comment. “

NEW: An internal investigation by Surprise PD found that a suspicious use of its Flock cameras was just caused by a web browser autopopulating a previously searched license plate, resulting in a bunch of repeated seaches for it.

This is a gross level of incompetence and instills zero confidence in the Recorder’s office.

Justin Heap now accused of depriving 24 US citizens of their sacred right to vote. This is a full blown disaster. His policy of “shoot first, ask questions later” fails again. Back in Feb, he proudly announced he found non-citizens, it was only 137. Turns out not even 137 at all
UPDATE: Arizona Attorney General @AZAGMayes tells Maricopa County Recorder @RecordersOffice she is prepared to sue if his office does not reinstate voting rights to 24 Arizonans who were allegedly noncitizens—but were confirmed to be citizens by @Rachel1Mitchell. Expect action this week.

Not sure why Recorder @azjustinheap hasn't restored these U.S. citizens voting rights. It's important that U.S. Citizens can vote and non-citizens cannot.

It means Maricopa County’s Recorder’s Office and Board of Supervisors settled their lawsuit over election control by agreeing to vacate (nullify) the prior court rulings. Under the deal, the Board runs Election Day ops and tabulation while the Recorder handles early voting. Thus 46 early/emergency sites shift from Recorder to BOS control by Nov 3, per the logistics in the presentation.

ICYMI last week the @RecordersOffice had an issue, raising supply chain questions. Justin Heap didn’t announce it until Friday 5:19pm. On this lack of transparency, folks are saying “the optics are terrible.” Justin needs to improve after Trump called him “dishonest” last Monday.
