🚨 Dom’s PhD engineer called NEAR’s privacy a simulation
Got me curious how the two chains compare on plain numbers.
So I ran them through six axes 👇
⚪ Fees per $1B of market cap
→ $ICP : $112K
→ $NEAR : $32K
⚪ Revenue per $1B of market cap
→ ICP : $1.11M a year
→ NEAR : $135K a year
ICP keeps all its fees as revenue. NEAR keeps about 70%.
⚪ TVL
→ NEAR : 3.20% of its cap
→ ICP : 0.66% of its cap
NEAR’s TVL roughly doubled in 90 days. ICP’s slipped 7.5%.
⚪ Stablecoins
→ NEAR : 1.84% of its cap
→ ICP : 0.24% of its cap
⚪ Daily users
→ NEAR : 10.8K per $1B
→ ICP : 2.5K per $1B
⚪ Transactions
→ NEAR : 3.6M per $1B
→ ICP : 595K per $1B
CertiK rates both AA.
NEAR takes it 4 to 2.
ICP earns more per dollar. NEAR gets used more.
The privacy debate can carry on. The usage gap isn’t up for debate.

Things have become so fake and this has drug on so long that its hard to take anything seriously
I guess the plan is just financial engineering with the market. And selling fake narratives on X for as long as possible.

Don't take this as 100% fact but if this large of a % of volume is running through FAR then this becomes even more relevant

This is craazy. I asked one of our PhD engineers to look into NEAR *Confidential* Intents wondering how they designed their system. Unredacted, word-for-word, this was his answer 😱😱😱
"Everything I found out about the privacy claims and confidential intents is so bad that it seems almost comical and I cannot believe what I am seeing. Apparently they run a completely separate instance of the protocol, which is called FAR (as an opposite to NEAR), and that has a permissioned operator set. The entire confidentiality claim seems to rest upon the fact that it is a permissioned chain and the nodes are trusted to keep things private, there doesn't seem to be any deep technology behind it and it also does not seem to be open source. The entities running the nodes are also not publicly known.
I almost feel weird writing this because it is so absurdly bad that it feels like ... I don't know ... a simulation? I know the usual level of overpromising in Web3 but this is so many levels beyond believable that it still feels unreal."

Why, as a member of Sneed DAO, you should fork the Sneed Hub code:
Sneed DAO is a decentralized organization where ownership of all assets should be jointly controlled by members. This works well for all canister-based assets.
For web2 assets like X accounts and Github accounts, it doesn't always work as smoothly.
You may have noticed, if you're a DD sleuth, that the Sneed Hub code base is under the github/SnassyIcp account rather than under github/icsneed.
That's because there is no official, authoritative repository. Not as such.
Anyone can fork this repository and, if they want, they can change the code. And, should the DAO so wish, it could vote for proposals to accept code from that repository instead.
What if I suddenly go mad and decide to tear down my repos with the Sneed Hub code? No worries, because you would have forked it. The DAO runs on without me, never missing a step.
But that long term security for the DAO relies on at least some of you forking my repos, so the DAO doesn't rely on me not going nuts. Go ahead and fork, it's quick, easy and free.

Lol..... You cant have a web run by Agents on Web2. Every company is a different walled garden.

Dormant Clifton Collins Wallet Moves BTC to Coinbase after 10 years!
Blockchain records show an address linked to notorious Irish cannabis dealer Clifton Collins moving 500 $BTC, worth $41.52M, directly into a @Coinbase Prime deposit contract.
This marks the first significant outbound balance transfer from the dormant wallet cluster in over a decade.
The funds come from a notorious 6,000 $BTC stash long considered lost forever after the presumed loss of physical private keys.

Fed-up Texas mom got one of these mailers and put it on video so every parent could see exactly what’s being sent into homes.
Addressed to the “students” of the household from the so-called Texas Transgender Student Union, the glossy “Texas Trans & LGBTQ+ Student Resource Guide” tells minors what to do if their parents “don’t support” them: go find a “safe adult,” a teacher, counselor, therapist, or youth organization staff member. It walks them through how a 16- or 17-year-old can petition for emancipation. It points them toward hormones and out-of-state care, and finishes by saying they don’t have to convince Mom and Dad because outside groups will become their “found family.”
The organization whose name and resources are plastered all over it has denied sending the mailers and called them impersonations. That doesn’t change what the flyer actually does. Somebody paid to print it, addressed it to kids, and dropped it in mailboxes right before early voting, coaching minors on how to cut their parents out of medical and legal decisions.
This mother is done staying quiet. She’s telling every parent to vote to protect their children, because whoever is behind these mailers is coming for the kids.
Parents are not the enemy. The people mailing roadmaps to emancipation and out-of-state medical care to minors are.

🚨 PHP2Shell: the one-line “fix” everyone shared overnight — session.upload_progress.enabled=0 — isn’t enough on its own, the firm that suggested it now says.
A PHP core developer put it bluntly: “the only mitigation is patching / upgrading PHP.”
No patch until 14:00 UTC today.
