I feel for the Star Wars folks, because... unfortunately, they cannot create as big of a momentous impact as Malfoid did.
Why? There are various specific and non-replicable reasons.
1) Star Wars is big, but despite how big it is, it is *NOT* Harry Potter Big. Harry Potter as a series sits at #4 of complete stories of all time, behind THE BIBLE, THE QURAN and THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO.
2) The addition of a female Draco to replace Male Draco actually fixes various hanging plot points within the Harry Potter Universe and by extension of that, vastly improves the story itself. Star Wars reaching for if Anakin had convinced Padme, or killed the emperor himself, or any other such decisions actively changes the course of the story fundamentally... whereas Malfoid amplifies and improves already current plot all the way through the end without subtracting anything from the overall story.
3) Malfoid had the benefit of synergizing with several traditional fictional conventions, not least of which is the Chivalric Mytho-Poetic Romance, in combination with a deuterogonist Heroe's Journey in reflection of Harry Potter... the two main characters contrasting and complimenting every aspect of the others character.
4) The appeal of Harry Potter is in that it can be many, many things at once. It can be a comedy, it can be a touching romance, it can be a serious plot driven story focusing on the elements from the original book. It can be cute and unserious, retain silly comic stylizations for kids as well as include dark momens such as Sectum Sempra, FiendFyre, Harry's death. It has flexibility in its presentation, and thus it captures an incredibly broad audience.
5) Whereas Star Wars is predicated on an archetypal heroes journey, Harry Potter does this too... but in addition to harkening to the memories of innocence and school age growth and change which echoes in the hearts of both young and old as very strong, attached memories, both good and bad.
6) There are more overt biblical and Christian references within Harry Potter... and Christianity is the 2nd largest religion on earth.
The fact that it can cover all these things singularly and by itself explains why it hit as hard as it did... and why, in my honest opinion, the Anakin posting (While popular) has less legs than Malfoid.

The Malfoid trend may end up dying out, but i will never forget the past month. It's been many years since i last yearned this hard.
Goes to show a romantic will always be a romantic, even if at times one forgets it. And i will never stop yearning, no matter how much more time passes.

Remember yearners: Harry Potter and Malfoid is intrinsically Arthurian Legend in tone.
What does that mean? It means that the story has certain requirements for consistency:
1. The hero is righteous. While he can be flawed, the hero seeks to bring order to chaos and provide safety and stability to the ones he loves. He has ideals that are never violated, even if they are forgotten due to human weakness.
2. The true love is pure. She may make mistakes, poorly communicate, or just act foolish but her love is never tarnished. She make make errors, but the love of the hero is not overcome by them.
3. The friends are just as important as the hero, and have their own stories. You cannot rob the hero of his men at arms, and harem fanfics are all filth.
4. The core message is Hope.
