Likely culprit: high-altitude ice crystal icing (high ice water content / HIWC) and then flameout.
Pilot flew strait into an updraft of a 45,000 foot cell. Next time you complain about your airplane spending an extra 30 minutes going around a storm...now you remember why.

From one of my previous lives: flying Mooney with my son Edward. Sometimes I have pictures - June of 2004.

I have two friends - one a financier, the other a private jet pilot. 10+ years ago the finance guy sold a jet to someone in Russia and hired our buddy to fly them both over there to deliver the jet. Somewhere between Greenland and Russia after climbing to 50,000 feet to avoid a storm, they flamed out because of high-altitude ice crystal icing (high ice water content / HIWC). The pilot was able to get it restarted and they made it to Russia in one piece. My financier friend later told me that the pilot should have flown around the storm not try to climb over it and that he would never fly with let alone hire our jet pilot friend again. Before any of this, I had taken flying lessons from the jet pilot who grew up in Alaska and learned to fly before he could drive a car because I thought an Alaskan bush pilot's skills were battle tested. We were doing a fly in on a Saturday morning and took off in his Mooney in tandem with his partner's twin engine Cessna. We got got caught in the Cessna's jet wash and dropped a hundred feet or more just after taking off. After the experience of feeling my stomach drop while we were flying out of control, I never took another flying lesson from him again.

Do you have manic AI on and then AI off periods? I can go one to two weeks all in and on and then I have to take one or two weeks off to process the results. Even though its output is my doing, I can not digest everything it produces at the same rate.
