At the Festival Hall last night, wall-to-wall brilliance from the Philharmonia, Salonen and Lawrence Power, premiering Magnus Lindberg’s viola concerto.
I think it’s safe to say, at this point, that I’m not going to get therapy from Better Help, or buy a carpet from Ruggable. And yet the ads roll on and on.

'Which scene did you find the most difficult to perform?' Question from Janine, São Paulo.
To celebrate the new film adaptation of Claire Keegan's Small Things Like These, we asked Faber Members to submit questions for the film's stars, Cillian Murphy and Eileen Walsh, who play married couple Bill and Eileen Furlong.
Small Things Like These will be released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 1 November 2024.
Hands down my favourite Guardian picture essay, at @RoyalAcadMusic. That Viola d’amore head…!

Our brand new truck is on its debut tour, to Tampere in Finland and Tallinn in Estonia.
Whenever possible, it will run on HVO fuel - a cleaner, non-toxic, and biodegradable fuel that reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional fuel. The team at transport company @kbeventltd worked closely with us to build a bespoke refrigerated trailer, to transport our instruments with both style and care.
The truck may be Philharmonia red, but we’re on the road to making our tours greener and more sustainable.
Look out for the truck (pictured here outside Tampere’s Concert Hall with our longtime driver Paul McPherson) out and about around London, Bedford, Leicester, Canterbury and Basingstoke, or indeed all around Europe – and if you spot it, share your pictures with us!
Great things happening at the small but mighty @TurnerSims
As we celebrate 50 years of Turner Sims and look forward to the next 50, we’ve given our brand a colourful refresh.
Welcome to a new look Turner Sims: all for the joy of music!
Thank you @ZapCreativeLtd for turning our passion for music into a bold, playful, welcoming new look.
Read a @garyyounge essay on the Faber Journal today:
"The trouble is not that we do not hear enough about white history but that what masquerades as history is more akin to mythology." In 2007 I wrote a provocation, discussing what a white history month might look like, republished here in my anthology.

I read this on a bench in an English Country Garden this summer.

It’s Lord of the Flies week here at Faber. This new graphic novel edition of the book created by Aimée de Jongh is stunning. And there is an exhibition on it at the Bindery.
