Today is #LoveYourPetDay, and while we know these officers love their dogs and horses, they are not pets, they are our partners.
Cops from our K9 and Mounted units form a strong bond with their four-legged friends, because we know they have our backs, & we have theirs.

Yesterday, cops from the @NYPD109Pct were patrolling the College Point section of Queens when they came across these 2 pups that were wandering the streets without their human. The dogs, Thunder & Bumi, got a ride to the precinct and were reunited with their owner shortly after.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends & colleagues of hero Jersey City Detective Joseph Seals who was tragically shot and killed in the line of duty this afternoon. May he Rest In Peace & let us #NeverForget the ultimate sacrifice he made.

Det. Joseph Seals was a dedicated cop who took countless guns off the street. He was also a father to 5 kids — all who expected him home tonight. The NYPD will #NeverForget his sacrifice. Tremendous courage shown by Jersey City cops today. Our prayers are with all the victims.

Congrats to our 12 newest @NYPDCT K9s and their two-legged partners who graduated at a ceremony held in the Police Academy yesterday.
Our new paw-some dogs are named after members of the NYPD we have lost in the line of duty and continue to remind us that we will never forget.
