2-David Cragg was Mild mannered but sharp witted , I was often in awe of his ability to speak his mind in the most hostile of environments. He will be remembered as a great Labour movement hero and a genuinely decent person. Vale Great man
Devastated to learn of the untimely passing of David Cragg former AWU official and VTHC Assistant Secretary. Over our 35 years of party and union engagement we fought many fights together and apart. 1

The Allan Labor Government has just passed the More Homes Bill – immediately slashing stamp duty on eligible off-the-plan apartments, units and townhouses.
This tax concession will deliver more homes sooner and make it more affordable to buy for young people and families.
Today's @ABSStats data shows inflation at its lowest in almost 4 years at 2.8%.
This is good news for all Victorian businesses, workers and families.
For those doing it tough – our government is delivering tangible support – and giving families one less thing to worry about.
From discounts and rebates available through Solar Victoria, to Utility Relief Grants, free rego for apprentices, free Kinder, capped V-Line fares, stamp duty exemptions & the School Savings Bonus – we're saving Victorian families thousands of dollars.

The Victorian Minister for Higher Education and I dropped a note to the Federal Minister for Education — concerning their proposed caps to education export.
Our message is clear: Axe the caps.
International education is Victoria’s largest single export and a significant driver of economic growth.
International students generated $14.8 billion in export revenue in 2023, supporting around 63,000 local jobs.
Could you imagine a more destructive policy? It’s akin to putting a cap on our mineral exports.
International students shouldn’t be used as pawns in political games that are disguised as “policy”. The caps are short-sighted, and fundamentally destructive. #Axethecaps #Springst
We’ve been clear this week.
The Commonwealth needs to go back to the drawing board and consult more on international student caps.
First step: @JasonClareMP needs to reopen the ESOS inquiry and host more public hearings.
I won’t sugar coat it.
A cap on international students is a cap on economic growth, a cap on jobs, and a cap on business investment.

Great to be here in Toronto, creating new connections and strengthening relationships that will benefit our state for years to come.
An honour to welcome @timpallas, #Victoria’s Treasurer and Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for Economic Growth to #Ontario!
With two-way trade between Ontario and Australia valued at $1.8B in 2023, we look forward to continuing to grow our bilateral #trade and cooperation across key sectors. 🇦🇺🇨🇦
Melbourne is once again Australia’s best student city — and the 5th best in the world.
This is no surprise, with our unmatched education opportunities, a world-class cultural scene, and an inclusive community.
We’ve really cemented our position on the global stage.
Congratulations to @DanielAndrewsMP on his AC.
Dan led some of the biggest and most important reforms in our state’s history.
Victoria is greater and fairer due to his enormous contribution.
Truly well deserved.
Gender responsive budgeting recognises that as far as we’ve come, there is still a long way to go in the fight towards equality.
And this year, Victoria will become the first jurisdiction in Australia to make gender responsive budgeting law.
We’re tripling our Glasses for Kids program in this Budget.
It means vision checks, and free glasses for Victorian kids who need them.
We’re saving parents money — and time — along the way.
Cheers to that. 🍷
Global Vic celebrates the news of the removal of duties on Australian & Victorian wine exports to China. Our team work closely with key industry bodies including @winevic @Austrade @AusGrapeWine @wine_australia to help Victorian wineries access China & other priority markets🍷🌏
