We also identified a more than 5x variability in TAVR operator density (# operators per 100k population). Lowest in Hawaii (0.35 per 100k) and highest in Montana (1.8 per 100k) (7/9)

By state, there is significant variation in mean operator volumes. Lowest annual TAVR volumes found in W Virginia (14.3/y) while highest in Kansas (52.4/yr). (6/9)

From our paper; we found the mean TAVR operator volume in 2018 was 23.6/y, and had grown from 13.5/y in 2014. (4/9)

First, to highlight procedural volumes are important- and not solely due to its use by CMS in the admin & reimbursement for TAVR. Volume-outcome relationships are complex & multifaceted, but data suggests there is a 30 day mortality benefit a/w higher-volume TAVR operators. (2/9)
